My first car was a '72 Mach 1. So...if that didn't exist.....I'd probably have gone for a 340 Cuda or a Challenger; a vert if I could have found one. No Mustang now? A Passat wagon or maybe a Ridgeline, something...practical. Boresville.

I'll keep my alternative choice within the same price range as my current car, so it would be a '86-'87 Buick Grand National or a Regal T-Type. Was actually looking to buy one before I got into Mustangs instead (with no regrets). Still wouldn't mind having one now, though. If it was a new car, probably a import of some kind - but not FWD.
