If you didn't have a Mustang

I'm curious to see what kinds of things people would want if hypothetically, the Mustang was non existent. doesnt matter if you have a first gen, a II, a fox, SN, S197, anything.

if you could not have bought that car, what would you have chosen instead. Lets try and keep it to cars that are buyable here, so for example I couldnt say I'd have bought a Ford Falcon FPV typhoon from the OZ.

Also, sicne alot of us are ford nuts, lets do this in two parts. if you right away choose a ford as your replacement for your mustang, what would you choose if you couldnt have a ford either?

i know, a bunch of dumb questions from Arin, but I'm really curious to see what people would choose

I'll go first.

If I could not ever have a mustang, I'd probably have gotten a Mercury Marauder.

and if I couldn't have gotten a Ford at all, I'd have wanted a Buick Grand National

Well I currently have an MX-5, that's my favorite (affordable) drop-top pretty much my favorite non-Mustang. If the 1-Series BMWs were more reasonably priced, a 1-series Coupe would make a compelling case in a no-Mustang world. Money no object, we start getting into Aston territory.....

I'm not a fan of GM, but there's something about Pontiacs that I really like.

If G8 was cheaper I would've probably bought one instead of Mustang.

If I remember correctly, Monaro is a two door coupe (Pontiac GTO). I think you meant Commodore.

And this car has a steering wheel on the left side so it can't be an Australian car.

If I couldn't have a Mustang for whatever reason, I'd either own a Corvette (C5 Z06 or regular C6) or a BMW 3-series sedan, or both. The Corvette would be less practical (we have two kids) but more fun, and a BMW 3-series sedan would be a great do-it-all car, especially an E36 M3, 335i, or E46 330i ZHP.

I dunno what I'd have... before it, I had two Honda Accords. 1994, 1995. I'd want something with AWD and possibly four doors. But, it'd have to be exciting. I get excited to drive my Mustang everytime I go out! (Keep in mind, it's my daily driver, so I get excited ALOT!!)

I was looking for a 1970 Olds 442 W30 for a fair price.(NADA well over $50K)
When I found out about the retro-mustang that goes faster, handles better and stops faster...
For less money...
I stopped looking.

If I couldn't have a Mustang I would probably have a C5 Z06 or C6 Z51. None of the imports impress me too much. They have no souls IMHO. My car is a 3rd car. My daily driver is a truck, so the fact that the Mustang seats 4 and is safer than a Vette and cheaper and cooler in certain regards makes the Stang my weapon of choice.

In reality probably an F-150, but would be seriously saving up for a vette.

Was looking at an F150 before the wife okayed the 'stang.
If I couldn't have a Ford, an Infiniti G35 or G37 coupe would be cool.
