IMO it's about $3,000 more than it should be (same with base 500).

 

I can't imagine giving that much money for a tiny little ****box.

 

Really wish I could see how much damage I could do to one with a F250 with a cattle guard bumper on it.

The standard 500 is nice enough but a bit "meh" too, certainly not up to the Minis.

However, I saw/sat in an Abarth at the DC Autoshow and that version definitely takes it up a few notches to where it should be and would make a very compelling urban DD or tight backroad car. As an aside, I think it had about the nicest paint finish of any car there -- glassy smooth with nary a hint of orange peel texture.

 

my local fiat dealer said they will be getting a few abarths in soon. I hate how much fiat dealer bother you. its nuts. the guy was trying to sell me three of them. I got alittle in his face about bothering us so much. The boss guy came over like three times in 10 mins to talk to us. Then the sales guy pulls out a credit app and starts talking numbers. Then he asks if I want to put something down. I told the sales guy to back off and that I will have to drive the car to see if I really want it. I told him if anyone calls me to try and sell me the normal sport model I would yell at them.

 

fiat really is the new vw. Sales guys that work for vw dealers on the most part are aholes and fiat is the new vw.

 

Fiat can only wish to be like a Volkswagen. Italians and Germans are nothing alike, that's why so many people are against Volkswagen taking over Alfa Romeo.

 

Sounds like the normal dodge/chrysler dealership around here. I was interested in a cobra they had, but they sold it. After I said I only wanted it I got emails and calls for weeks asking if id be interested in a different car.

 

its not teh car itself but the sales people that bug you and bother you and wont leave you alone.

 

From my experience, all sales people are pretty much the same. Even if you stop by just to ask the information they won't leave you alone until you buy a car from them.
I test drove the new Focus few months ago and I told the salesman that I have decided to wait until the next summer for purchase, but I still get phone calls from him every 2 weeks asking me if I have changed my mind. Its how they make living ...

 

Just curious, but why do you guys give these slugs your phone number to begin with? Can't willingly give your number to a total stranger (and a car salesman at that) then ***** about them calling you.

 

I told them to call me when the abarth comes in. I told them if they called trying to sell me a non abarth I would yell at them.

The sales guys was pissing me off big time. The second he seen us he Ran over to use and started asking a million questions. Then his manager came over and bugged us and I said thats nice we are leaving now. He asked if we had a trade in and then started bothering me why I didnt have a trade in for the car. He asked like five times if I was trading in the mustang. I kept telling him its my daily driver and I dont give a crap about mpg in my DD. I got pretty rude when he started to bother my niece that was with me thats six month preggo.

 

I bought my last 3 vehicles from the same dealership, I service all of them there, so they know me pretty well and they have all my info on the file.
