That is beside the point I was trying to make. I don't recall mentioning that everyone needs a crew cab F450, or an Expedition EL, just saying the the Fiat 500 (imo from the ones I've seen) is a tiny little car and that there are other cars between it and a Fleetwood motorhome that work better for someone who doesn't live in a city, or rarely travels to the city.

I just have no desire to be more "European", no matter how much people want to shove it down my throat, from the government on down.

 

I realize that and I agree with you there, but it seems to me that the people who criticize Fiat 500 the most are those people who are single, with no kids, yet they drive a full-size SUV/Truck.
Yeah, I know, it's a free country and people can drive whatever they want, but I honestly can't see why so many people criticize Fiats.

And this is nothing personal or against anyone here on forums, just my .02 in general.

 

A lot of people in the US dislike small cars for whatever reason. IMO, if it fits your lifestyle and you like it, that's all that matters. There are some people that don't ever use a truck to haul stuff, but it's what they are comfortable with. That's fine. As long as they are happy.

 

I saw one offroading and drove off a curb...Maybe they have more uses than I originally thought.

 

I know a guy that has a hummer H2T that has 22s on it and he waxes the truck bed area because he says it looks unclean. Hes a cool guy but it just seems silly to have a car thats not used for what it is made to do.

People always yelled at me for daily driving the mustang and not the five hundred. I tell them "my car hauls one thing and thats ***! Its doing what it was made to do"

 

You could have just stopped right there. He lost all credibility at Hummer on 22s.

Small cars don't have to be boring

This is my 91 civic drag car
522 whp and runs in the mid 10s, I know it's not the fastest car ever but no car gives me a bigger smile. And it gets 28 mpg when I lay off the boost

 

You don't even need a lot of power to have fun if you have the right roads. My S2000 is pretty slow but you can toss it around like nobody's business.

Checked out my friend's more thoroughly yesterday. Very nice and well built. The sound is just amazing... I would never expect it from that car.

 

I like it, and would drive one as a daily if i got a steal of a deal on it. But there are alot other cars i would rather have.

 

That's my thought too. Fully optioned they get pricey for the performance. At the price my friends paid for their Abarth I'd likely choose something like the Subaru BRZ for a fun, tossable, and efficient small daily driver.

I think the Focus ST would be a consideration as well whenever it comes.
