I was on my way home doing about 70 mph when I got passed by one of these. I just had to catch up to get a better look. I think I freaked out the guy cause when I caught up he started going faster. LOL

its funny, i've probably seen about a dozen cls55's and maybe two cls500's. Maybe its just the type of car, if you're likely to go for a flashy car like the cls, you're likely to go for the fast one.
I think they're pretty sweet, i like the idea of a big car that ain't quite as chunky as an S class. Kinda like the quattroporte or the XJ.

It was the back end that got me. I'm not a huge benz fan but I must respect them. They build some of the nicest cars.

i dunno if that's gonna stay true very long. it seems that MB is pumping up the power in all of its cars, AMG and regular. Take the new S-class for example. The S450 or something around there gets 320hp, the S500 gets something close to 400hp, while the S63 will get something ridiculous. I'm very sorry for the vague numbers... too lazy to google it or go get the motor trend upstairs. You get the idea though. This compares to the old S500 that got 302hp.

The new M-B V6 (I think it's a 3.5) seems to be a real powerhouse too, 268 horsepower or something like that (and that's for truck, ML, format, the cars might get a different tune).

Theres not way I would purchase a Benz... too pricey. But the design of the rear of this car was really attractive. Slightly reminded me of an Aston Martin rear.

There's a bunch of these around my job site in northern Virginia. Reminds me of that line from 'Gone In 60 Seconds':

"That tells me that there are too many self-indulgent WEINERS around here with TOO MUCH BLOODY MONEY!!!"

Great quote from Nick Cage, as Randall "Memphis" Raines, in Gone in 60 Seconds, when he was talking to the Ferrari salesman, while casing the joint. Good post.

They're all over the place around here.. which is a good thing because I love to look at them. I've seen more of them than the Mustang V6 and GT combined.
