Good point but unfortunatly that doesn't make the front end look any better.

I would love to get a Cougar based on this platform. It would be the perfect complement to the Mustang. It would be the car for people that want more of the creature comforts like dual climate zones, heated seats, defrosting mirrors, HID, and such. I could see a market for this car and it would breathe life back into the Mercury brand.
This is EXACTLY what Mercury needs to breathe some life into the brand.

If they could find a way to increase rear seat room, all the better.

With good styling, power and a healthy list of high-end goodies it would be a great image car for Mercury

I'd love to see a Couger re-make... I almost bought a friends I think 68 Cougar a while back for about $1,500 it was in near perfect condition. he get tired of tinkering with it. Really kicked myself in the butt for not getting it... It was a gorgeous car. Black with Chrome everything.

I love that chop, but i don't see any mercury blood in it, compared to the other cars in their line. They're all about family ties nowadays, i think a cougar today would be pretty classy, not too brutish, i think that chop looks mean! which is cool, but i think the real thing would probably be a bit more classy, and it'd deffinitely have the verticle bar grill.

I think those headlights are from the Australian Ford Falcon. Ford of Australia has their own performance, line FPV.

Here is a Ford FPV GT

Whoever chopped it pulled the front end directly off an Australian Falcon, mated it with the '05 Mustang and did a dang fine job of it. I always forget who did it, because they didn't sign it.

I know it doesn't have the vertical grill or the headlight covers, but I think that car would sell FAR better than the other Cougar concepts I've seen around. I personally think the headlight covers were hideous anyhow, and just add another moving part to break (there's a reason the Corvette has gone away from popups).

Once again, I must post my favorite Cougar photochop. I'd mortgage my kidney to get this
Oh my ... that's one beautiful car right there I agree with holderca1. That would look really nice next to a 2005 Mustang in the garage
