Help me pick a DD
Good question. Probably under 10k if I bought something right now up to 15k-ish next year if I commute and save a little $. Need to see how new mortgage payment, gas costs etc. pan out to be sure, but somewhere in that neighborhood. I don't think I could commute with the wife longer than a year.

get the keeping miles off the stang and good to have a beater that u don't have to worry about.
won't save any money on mileage though.. a few years ago i got an old fusion for nothing and it got 30+ mpg but it ended up costing over $1k more a year to keep it so got rid of it
even if you get another car that gets 100 mpg it won't come close to saving any $ at all after insurance reg inspection maintenance wear and tear
and thats if the car was free.
once you add in the purchase cost it would still be cheaper to keep one car that got 8 mpg and fill it with racing fuel..

my dad's last 4 cars were chryslers, he doesn't buy a new car till the old one literally falls apart and the last one (a 2000) had 257k miles on it, he sold it to his friend for $500 and he is still driving it today, his current chryser (an '07) has 167k mi and it's just barely broken in, it still has the original spark plugs cause he never takes care of them & honda will cost 3x as much cause of so stupid misconception that they're better than anything else, that might have been true in the 80's but not anymore

Ha ha, I'd love to have whatever I get wrapped or painted for my budding side business, but not sure I could make fantasy graphics look anything but uber corny on a car.

Pray you don't break the Mini if that's what you get. Either its expensive to replace, or its a pain in the butt doing it. A WRX wouldn't be so bad, buuut good luck finding one a 21 year old hasn't tried to gymkhana in. If you want a cheap car that you will never have to do much more than oil changes on get an Accord or Civic. You just have to find one that's a 1 owner, maybe 2 owner and NOT owned by some hellaflush idiot.
