Apparently, with it's final numbers, General Motors made money in the 1st quarter of 2006.

That's really surprising. With all of the doom and gloom talk surrounding them for the last couple years, I didnt think they would be making a global profit so soon. They still lost money in North America, but even that loss wasnt as bad as was expected.

 

hmmmm.. they have turned a loss into a profit by including exceptional items like sale of a related party (Suzuki), and including forex on the figures. I would be interested to see the 10-q when it is released.

 

Looks to me like they made their money by selling GMAC Mortgage.
Still showing losses in all other areas.
