Gee Ford, if only you had a car that was in high demand to take up the slack.

I seem to remember... I recently read a post somewhere which slightly mentioned Ford having some sort of high demand pony car, and a 32% sales jump. What a bunch of lying scumbags!

Did you read the article, it actually says the Ford's car sales were stronger than expected, its the trucks and SUVs that are way down.

What a load of bull, Ford had already decided to make the very small production cut the article mentioned before February sales figures were even in. And there are even reports that Ford was actually quite pleased with February sales, as well they should be.

Why you ask? Simple, this reporter obviously looked at sales of the F-150 and compared them to last year numbers, but he did not account for the fact that the F-150 was new last year and there is simply no way a vehicle can sustain the kind of first year sales boom the F-150 had. The F-150 is still the best selling vehicle on earth and sales are still very, very good indeed but anybody with critical thinking skills knew (as did Ford) that F-150 sales would drop compared to last year.

Take out the inevitable drop that occured in F-150 sales and Ford actually did much, much better in the car and small suv market which is what they were looking for. And, this is why Ford is happy.

Note though that small suv sales actually went up, and the Ford F-150 sales dropping is not something that can actually be considered a sales drop as I mention above. Last year was the "million vehicle" anomoly and if you look at sales trends this year is going to be a very good year for the F-series even sales are lower than last year.
