I'm saying that I understand the position that GM, Ford and Chrysler are in. Americans have some of the cheapest cars in the world; yet, factory workers in the auto industry in the USA are among the highest in salaries.
A factory worker in auto industry in the eastern Europe works for $4/hour. And company doesn't have to worry about UAW; if sales are slow they can close factory for X number of months without still paying worker's salaries (unlike the USA where they have to pay them whether they're working or not due to UAW's contracts). And workers are not gonna build a bad product on purpose because they're unhappy over a shift change ...
Are you seriously defending a wage that is criminal in the year 2013? :infiniteshameonyou:

Well things are little different in the Eastern Europe. Where I'm from 600 euros per month is actually a really decent wage.

Well, isn't that 4.00 an hour @ 40 hours a week less than 500 euros a month? and does that 4.00 an hour have any deductions? What about retirement? Does the person have to die on the floor of the factory or does he get tossed when he's too old and feeble to work?

No - they should make double what normal factory workers make, and have a retirement plan that was forced upon the company by Union leaders who have no real interest in their members - just in their own full pockets. They should get a pension for longer than their employment lasted (my Grandmother worked for GM for 31 years and has collected a pension for 34 years and counting).

This is why Large companies are forced to outsource or fold.

I believe the average monthly income at Fiat's factory in Serbia is 660 euros. So we're looking for little over 4 euros per hour.
Retirement is included.
Healthcare and education in the eastern Europe is very cheap compared to the USA.
