Looks like Auto Bild (German auto magazine).
I got them off the Serbain web-site Autoblog.rs.

OK I guess, judging from these pics. Front is pretty nice, but overall, the elements just don't quite cohere into a well balanced and integrated whole. Reeks more of design by committee and market surveys than a strong, singular stylistic vision.

I didn't expect big changes, I never do from VW, and Golf 7 is probably still gonna be the best seller in Europe ... by a wide margin.
My favorite Golf has always been European Mk. 1. We used to have one back in the mid 1990s, in Serbia, and it was a great little car. Reliable too.

I think it looks great in front and even better in back. More Audi-esque.
Rumor around the VW camp is, they used more aluminum and light weight, yet stronger materials, resulting in a 200+ lbs weight drop.
That's HUGE in a car that's only 2900-3100 lbs now.
The 2.0T is rumored to get a decent power bump.
TDI engine will also see a power bump.
More power, less weight = win for performance and fuel economy.

This is one car in its class that I would love to own in Europe. Skoda Rapid. Its basically a VW without a VW price. It just went out for sale. You can get a nicely equipped Rapid 1.6L TDI diesel for ~14,000 euros (~$17,000).

Yup, mine's a 2002 1.9L TDI diesel that can also run on bio-diesel.
Next time I'm there (probably next summer), I'm planing to trade it for a 1999-2005 Seat Leon (also a 1.9L TDI diesel, Seat is owned by VW and they're using the same engines).
I just like the looks better ...

That's not true. VW has actually lowered the price of their vehicles recently.
And for what you get, their prices are reasonable.
Name another German car that you can get for the price? That means it's still the "people's car" when compared to the other choices out there for the price.
If the price goes up for the new models it will be minor. VW will be the largest automaker in the world in the coming couple years, they sure as heck are going to price their sales leader out of the range of their audience or competition. That would not be smart, and you don't get to be #2 and soon to be #1 by being stupid in business now do you?
And without the VW price, means without the VW amenities and other things. It just means it's the lower end version. You realize in this life you don't get the same for less in business. If the price is less, you are getting less, one way or another.

How is 15,500 euros reasonable for a base Golf 1.2L 82 hp?
When for 4,000 euros less you can get a Chevy Cruze 1.6L 111 hp.
Why would it matter whether its German or not? What makes Germans so special?
And to answer your questions, Opel Astra (1.4L 100 hp) starts at 14,000 euros.

I didn't say they're gonna price it out of the range (they already have Skoda and Seat for buyers with lower budgets), I just said that VWs are already one of the most expensive vehicles in their classes.
Not necessarily. Some companies just don't charge extra for the badge and the name.
