Fuel pressure regulator

Okay guys, I have a BBK adjustable fuel pressure regulator and I have two questions. 1. Can I use a regular air pressure gauge to check pressure or do I need the liquid filled ones and 2. Does anybody know how to adjust the BBK regulators? It was on my car when I bought it and I've never had trouble but I have to check my pressure and have it set to 39.5 and adjust my timing back to stock for my chip to fix my idle issues

I would use a mechanical gauge mounted to the schrader valve on your fuel lines to adjust the pressure.

As for the procedure, unplug the vacuum line that's on top of the regulator and hold your finger over the hose end to stop the vacuum leak. Loosen the lock nut and adjust the screw in or out for desired fuel pressure. Lock it backup obviously once done, plug the vacuum line back in and your good to go. This is how I use to do it on my old 5 liters. I Usually always kept the required wrench and Allen key for adjustment in the car if it was ever needed for some reason.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, would you happen to know any stores that sell fuel pressure gauges? The only ones I can find are at O'Rielly's and they're only good to 15 p.s.i.

Well i'm not positive they have them but you could try a NAPA or an Autozone store but I've always just ordered one from a place like Summit Racing.

So if you don't mind waiting/or aren't in a rush, you can order one through Summit, Jegs, 50Resto ect..

This is the last one I bought a few years back for one of my old Foxes.
