"While DaimlerChrysler's Dodge Viper SRT-10 has the same horsepower as Ford Motor's GT, the Viper--like General Motors' Chevrolet Corvette--could still work as a daily commuter car (albeit for hardcore drivers), whereas you would probably want to save the GT for the track. "

I wrote a comment to them and told them they're stupid. Well, not exactly, but i told them that their horsepower rating for the GT is outdated and that while they even mention later on in the slideshow thing that the viper is notoriously uncomfortable, the GT has been praised for its level of comfort and its easy driving.

This is pretty lame too, taken from the slideshow:
"The 'Vette, which turned 50 last year, is still ferocious, with a new 6.0-liter, 400-hp V-8 engine. Ford's recently-overhauled Mustang sports car is comparatively less awe-inspiring--with an optional 300-hp V-8 and a less-exciting, 210-hp V-6--despite a better value (base prices of $19,000 for the V-6 and $25,000 for the V-8). "

The vette is comparatively less awe-inspiring than the Bugatti Veyron.

Sounds like they are reaching for something to write about. I don't consider the vette to be a 'supercar'. Plus, there is already a mustang that is a vette killer. Can you imagine if Ford put another $20k into the mustang? Just insane.

they talk in the article about how there are really only two american supercars, the GT and the S7, so that's why the actual title of the article was American Super Cars or something like that. Yup, a $45K Mustang would be pretty sick, i'm sure. ... "will be", i mean. Maybe not exactly 45K, but you know what i mean.

Excellent points. Here's a great picture from the Car and Driver review of the SRT 10 awhile back (it's actually a portable griddle moonlighting as a supercar):
