I don't think he'll be able to find a Omni GLH for under $1,000. They're becoming quite collectible these days.

The Protege/Escort GT and Sentra/200SX SE-R are good choices. An oddball IMO, if you can find one would be the NX 2000. Then there's the 1991-92 Isuzu Impulse/Geo Storm GSi twins. How about the AE92 Corolla GT-S or T160 series Celica GT-S models? I know, they're Toyotas...

The 1st gen Sentra SE-R was a dandy little machine, I'd hate to see one turned into a race car.

Going to look at a Neon Sport Coupe after work today! My brother in-law saw it yesterday, so I'm not sure what kind of condition its in (beauty is in the eye of the beholder)...but if its as good as I hope it is I'll drive it home

Aahhh!! She wouldn't sell it to me!!! I got there and it would have made the perfect car! 2 door auto with the DOHC 2.0 too!! I knocked on the door and this little old
Lady answers the door and said it's not for sale anymore because her son said he wanted it! So pissed!

Protege! I though avoid the 1.5L, it was horrendously anemic. we had one of those in our 98, and it was slow as *****. However the 1.8 in our 93, (I'm pretty sure it was the sohc, not the dohc) which wikipedia tells me had 165hp

in any case, this sounds freaking sweet. Me and my friend have been tossing the idea of LeMons around for a long time, and this is almost right down that alley. good luck finding something man
