Question Doing the Coyote swap leads me to some questions.

I haven't spent much time researching this but I had thought about it a few times. Especially after I saw the Superformance Cobra.

FRPP offers nearly everything you would need to sink the 5.0L into a hot rod project. Much like GM offers the LSx line or eRod also. The only problem I see here is how to utilize a pulley system with a hydraulic power steering pump. EPAS isn't cheap. But it seems like the two options are manual rack and pinion, or an EPAS solution, which does exist but is very costly.

So I just wanted to know is it possible to use a hydraulic system? Or would you just go with the options I have mentioned above? Reason I ask is because of some wild projects that were running through my head recently involving the 5.0L into a Fox, 240SX or Cobra/Daytona Coupe.

Thanks guys.

I would think that doing a hydraulic Steering would be as simple as fabbing a bracket for the pump and getting a longer belt and maybe a second tensioner. Then of course the Rack and hoses..etc.

Yeah, I guess I am just used to the gigantic tracks from the GM 5.7L trucks. It's the last thing I really spent wrench time on. Maybe I will research to see if any billet pieces exist. A hydro unit is easy to snag up.
