Dodge Charger Prices and Horsepower #'s
The Charger will be sold in four trim levels:
>>> SE, with a base price of $22,995.
>>> SXT, with a base price of $25,995. This step adds 17-inch aluminum wheels, split folding rear seat, power driver's seat and upgraded sound system.
>>> R/T, with a base price of $29,995. This step adds the 340-horsepower, 5.7-liter V-8 with cylinder deactivation technology, sport suspension, 18-inch wheels and leather seats.
>>> Daytona R/T, with a base price of $32,495. This step brings a 350-hp version of the 5.7-liter V-8, different front fascia and grille, special badging and body-color interior trim pieces. The Daytona R/T will have a choice of only two colors; "Go ManGo!" metallic orange originally used on the 1970 Dodge Charger, and "Top Banana" yellow.
Production of the Charger Daytona R/T will be limited, the automaker says. A Chrysler group spokesman said to expect about 4,000 units of each color to be built for the U.S. market, and 200 of each color to be built for sale in Canada.
Chrysler says it will build the orange Daytona R/Ts first, beginning the summer, followed by the yellow cars.

Base version is 3.5L V6, right? Its still little too much, especially because Chrysler's 3.5L are know for trouble (personal experience with 1997 Intrepid with 3.5L V6).
SRT-8 is rumored to be $36,995, but dunno if that includes the guzzler tax or not?
I don't understand why the 6.1L Hemi can't also have cylinder deactivation as well as the 5.7L, since its supposedly just a bored and stroked version of the latter?

Gotta say, they did good with the pricing on this car. I'm so/so on the looks of it; the design isn't what I had dreamed of, but it isn't awful either (in my opinion). This would be something I figure my dad might buy; he used to buy Bonnevilles recently but they're obviously a dead-end model now.
The Daytona is only available in orange and yellow? Man...seems like they need at least a couple other choices, like a red and black, maybe Plum Crazy or Limepeel. I'd pick orange if I had to choose. I mean, c'mon...an orange Charger.

...something to look into.
