Love the new chargers, and definitely like the G8. Only G8 I would own though is the GXP version.

Yet.

Although the front end does look a lot like the new Fusion/Mondeo.

Apart from the stickers, how is it different from a regular Charger RT?

I don't have the stat sheets in front of me but I bet the R/T Charger outperforms the SHO is most performance categories and truthfully IMO is much more comfortable.
This was the only head-to-head-to-head comparison I could find.

2013 Ford Police Interceptor Sedan (Taurus SHO)

Engine: 3.5L/365-hp/350-lb-ft twin-turbo DOHC 24-valve V-6
Transmission: Six-speed Automatic
Curb Weight: 4413 lb (59/41%)
0-60 MPH: 5.3 seconds
1/4 mile: 13.9 sec @ 100.9 mph
Braking, 60-0 MPH: 118 ft
Lateral Acceleration: 0.87g (avg)
Motor Trend Figure-Eight: 26.3 sec @ 0.65 g (avg)
EPA City / Highway Fuel Economy: 16/23 mpg

2012 Dodge Charger Pursuit (R/T)

Engine: 5.7L/370-hp/395-lb-ft OHV 16-valve V-8
Transmission: Five-speed Automatic
Curb Weight: 4261 lb (54/46%)
0-60 MPH: 5.6 sec
1/4 mile: 14.1 sec @ 102.0 mph
Braking, 60-0 MPH: 117 ft
Lateral Acceleration: 0.84 g (avg)
Motor Trend Figure-Eight: 26.7 sec @ 0.64 g (avg)
EPA City / Highway Fuel Economy: 16/25 mpg

2012 Chevrolet Caprice PPV

Engine: 6.0L/355-hp/384-lb-ft OHV 16-valve V-8
Transmission: Six-speed Automatic
Curb Weight: 4227 lb (51/49%)
0-60 MPH: 5.7 sec
1/4 mile: 14.2 sec @ 101.0 mph
Braking, 60-0 MPH: 119 ft
Lateral Acceleration: 0.83 g (avg)
Motor Trend Figure-Eight: 26.8 sec @ 0.64 g (avg)
EPA City / Highway Fuel Economy: 15/24 mpg

Though not 100% indicative of what you'd get out of each pedestrian model, the performance numbers the lowly Taurus SHO put down compared to its two V-8 rivals aren't too bad, especially considering how much heavier it is in comparison. And what makes you think the Charger is "much more comfortable"?

Thanks for your research, I obviously was proven wrong on the performance numbers. I guess to me the Charger passes the eyeball test more than the Taurus. I prefer the feel of a RWD, V8 over the turbo 6, AWD of the SHO. Keep in mind you can get AWD as an option for the Charger, I would spend the extra cash on that option personally. I have driven both a Charger and a new Taurus (not a SHO model) to me the Charger feels much more spacious than the interior of the Taurus. I kind of get a cocoon feeling when sitting in the Taurus. Though it is a fullsize it feels like a midsize. I'm not bashing the Taurus but I like the Charger more and depending on options it is also the cheaper alternative.

A big thing holding the chargers performance back in that **** 5 speed auto. When they update to the 8 speed auto expect those numbers to have dropped.

I agree. A friend of mine has one and they just come across as more aggressive and meaner looking than the Taurus or Fusion. The Fusion looks blah from the front tire back. Cool front, tho.

3k for stickers and a number plate.... Dodge continues to **** me off. This is why I'm selling my challenger and why I bought my boss.

Now my charger, ill never sell. And they are way cooler than the Taurus.

Isn't that the same thing as the California Special package? Dodge isn't doing anything different. I agree I'd rather pocket my 3k and buy the standard R/T. I can't blame them though many car makers make "special editions" and charge a huge markup of them.

I'm hoping that Dodge puts the 8 speed auto in the V8 soon. I'd love to get myself a Toxic Orange R/T Plus AWD.

Over priced, overweight, and really doesn't perform that well.

If I had to buy a car in that price range with four doors, I'd get the Focus ST and save some cash.
