Just a speculative rendering, hopefully the real deal will gel quite a bit better than this. Some interesting elements, but overall, a not fully coherent mish-mash of elements, many somewhat derivative of other cars.

I really, really hope the real thing has a traditional Corvette rear hatch/window.

That looks like a variation of a Nissan GT/R to me

Not to burst your bubble but this isn't speculation. The C7's design has just plain leaked out, notice how this render and Jalopnik's from earlier this year are nearly identical in detail:

and Automobile's render:

They wouldn't look that that consistent if these were based on word of mouth.

I dig it, except for the tail lights.

I'm sure the exterior will end up a bit more graceful when the car launches. But they'd better enhance that basement interior, or the critics will kill it. From what I read, the seats and dash are getting improved...it's about time.

I think C&D's render is but a rehash of the earlier one. The big question is whether the earlier one itself was accurate. From what I've been able to discern from various camo'ed test cars, which is a bit tricky, admittedly, it may not be terribly accurate in the details, especially towards the rear.

Or at least I hope not...

I think it looks mostly good. Although I do see a lot of other cars mashed in there...perhaps some GTR, a little Ferrari, and a little Viper even? I'm sure it'll get smoothed out, but it looks good enough for now. Although I agree about the back end being the worst part of that.

Ugggg... IMO the c6 is the best looking vette of all time. And the z06 is like the great white shark. Evolutionarily perfect, no need to evolve.

In all the camo shots including that GT5 render, the tail lights look much more round compared to those two renders above. Like rhumb said I think that is a rehash of the other.

see definately has round tail lights.

You can tell in this picture the center of the hood where the vents are is actually recessed, unlike those renders show. also this camo'd car is not running production headlamps and the side marker in front of the front wheels is like the silver car render it just has anther light bolted on for camo purpose.

Not from a video game, a simulation game. The people that makes these games are obsessive and are always making these from the real life object, laser scanning and everything, so that GT5 one is most likely 99.9% to the real life car they had in front of them.

Way more accurate than analyzing some render drawing from people that couldn't get up close and personal to the car.

Oh I'm not mocking it. Believe me. I meant that as a compliment. It's a testament to how far gaming has come today. It used to be frowned upon. And now it's so widely accepted to the point where a major auto company will use it as a marketing platform.

Awesome
