No they wouldn't ... Introducing another high performance version of Challenger will increase sales by few thousand units per year in the best case scenario.
Camaro was the best selling muscle car in 2012 and sales were under 85,000. So even if Challenger can beat that (which they won't no matter what), that number is much smaller than the potential numbers for mid-size sedans.
By the way, there is a much bigger difference in weight between Mustang and Camaro (~420 lbs) than between Challenger and Camaro (~130 lbs). If the weight is the reason for Challenger's slow sales, why is Camaro the best selling muscle car?
