Even stock, it would have been a driver's race. The SRT-8 only does .2 quicker in the 1/4 mile than the GT, with a pricetag $10k higher and worse fuel economy.
It's a absolutely beautiful looking car, but the interior is completely wrong (read:not at all retro nor matches the exterior) and it's way too heavy. Either way, neat run-in.

we had a quick run but not quite an all out race cause it had stopped raining just then.......i could get off the line quicker and in an everyday light to light sprint we will beat that challenger...however...kennedy airport was really close and we took a quick run over there...the challenger will totally leave us behind if the race goes any distance...now i did get to take her up the black for a spin....it feels great and sounds better...totally old school rumble....heres the bad part....one wheel peel....unbelievable and yet i saw it with my own eyes
again thanks to the driver ...especially since it wasnt his car...how many guys would let you get them off a highway and spend so much time with a stranger

A car guy is a car guy.No strangers in this hobby. Our main interest is cars, performance and a chance to talk cars.Hats off to the Challenger dude!
What sad for Mopar guys is if that car doesn't sell(general units) they'll(Chrysler) cancel it to sell economy cars.

The vid said the Bullitt has "less restirctive exhaust", did they just put the FRPP axle backs on it or is it a completely different exhaust system from front to back than a normal GT?
Thanks for the video.

The Bullitt does have 'freer-flowing' axlebacks (with 3.5" exhaust tips) and a modified h-pipe which gives an exhaust sound supposedly "based on a digitally mastered copy of the movie" - if you can find one, some ford dealerships have a handout with all of the 'goodies' the Bullitt has on it (which is where I got this info). I actually saw a Bullitt the other day on the street; a very beautiful car.
