Can Chrysler do anything right?

They're recalling over half a million vehicles including 300 and Magnum.

Chrysler Recalling 300,000 Vehicles
Some 300,000 Chrysler vehicles will be recalled for problems with transmissions, while another 283,000 diesel-equipped trucks will be brought back by the automaker for a problem with transmissions. In the first issue, Chrysler says 2005 model-year vehicles with six-cylinder engines could have a missing or improperly installed plug that could keep the vehicles from being shifted into park. Some of the vehicles included in the recall are the Dodge Durango, Dakota/Mitsubishi Raider, and Chrysler 300/Dodge Magnum. In the second recall, the 2003-05 Dodge Ram trucks with diesels will be modified so owners can put their vehicles into park more precisely. Chrysler says that some owners were not putting their vehicles fully into park, which could have led to the vehicles rolling away.
So this could have led to an idle speed accident, and Chrysler already has a fix ready for incoming cars. While not absolutely safe, I would rather have that recall on my hands than one dealing with my company's top selling SUV flipping over.
Also, as to the title of this topic, let's remember that Chrysler is the only one of the Big Three not in dire straits right now.

While General Motors and Ford nurse serious battle wounds, the Chrysler Group continues to demonstrate that there is still a good deal of life left in the domestic auto industry.
The Chrysler Group reported a respectable if not spectacular four-percent sales increase in September, a time when the other domestic brands were faltering. It was the 18th consecutive month in which the Chrysler Group has managed to post a sales increase - one of the longest streaks in the industry.
Competitors such as GM groused that Chrysler raised incentives last month, but overall the DaimlerChrysler unit's use of incentives, while generous, seemed to have been more strategic measures than the broad campaigns used by Ford and GM. In addition, while GM and Ford have been hit by a sharp fall in sport-utility vehicle sales, sales of Jeep-brand vehicles and the Ram pickup trucks have held up fairly well. Sales of the Dodge Durango have slipped, but Chrysler has gained ground from the robust showing of smaller vehicles such as the PT Cruiser and Neon, which jumped 15 percent last month.
So basically, Chrysler is doing a heck of a lot better than we are at the moment. I am all for loyalty, but ignorance helps no one.

Every auto manufacturer has these to deal with. Cars are too complex now for them to not miss SOMETHING along the way.

Jon, your Intrepid is newer and its R/T model. Although they both have 3.5L V6 engine, your have about 30 hp more. Biggest problem on my Intrepid now is that both front tires are "shaking" while driving and its matter of time when they fall off. Chrysler dealer is charging me almost $1,500 to fix that. So nobody is currently driving Intrepid because its cost more to fix it than the car is actually worth. I should've give it for trade in when I bought F-150. And a lot of Intrepids have transmission problems after 100,000 miles (mine currently have 90,000).
