Are we still quoting car sites? or real GM info?
You definately won't hear about it on monday with the official releases though, if its still around.
Like the GT500 it was never meant to be the first year anyway.
I still stand by my 3750lbs v6 RS, 3900lbs V8, and 4000+lbs Z28![Biggrinjester](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrinjester.gif)
I'll be AMAZED if they got the weight on the v8 down to 3750lbs

A LOT of details
Surrounding the v6 with 300hp/270lbs
and the 2 v8s (one for the Auto, one for the Manual)
All cars get 3.27 rear end with the exception of the SS manual... gets 3:45s
HP on the 2 v8s
L99 (Auto V8) 400 hp (based on Chevy's estimate of 395 hp) and 395 lb-ft of torque
Paddle shifters as well as cylinder deactivation.
LS3 around 425hp/408ftlbs with 6 speed manual t6060
Oh yeah, on PREMIUM fuel.
All cars get staggered size half shafts (like the ZR1) to control wheel hop (their new thing they are doing)
Skip shift 1-4 is back again..surprise surprise.
holy crap...even the lowest LS model V6 comes standard with 18s!!!!
19s an option, as well as 20s on the RS trim package.
Oh look... 3747 is the beginning V6 weight... and 3900lbs for the SS. Thought i read that somewhere before
oh yeah... ![Biggrinjester](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrinjester.gif)
---------
Even with the SS weighing 3900 lbs...with 425hp and its gearing etc.
I would assume it to perform like an 03 Cobra 1/4 mile wise. And probably handle well on the track too. It'll be heavy, but it'll perform too.
Don't get discourage mustang folk..
Just wait for the volley back...

The rumored 500-hp supercharged V8 planned for a future Z28 model remains a possibility.

With the 3.45 gearing in the manual...and its final curb weight (goodies)
probably high 12s (12.7-13.0)
Faster than its predecessor

Love how the Chevy guy is talking smack.

"We stopped bringing Mustangs on our development rides because they were so far behind us in our rearview mirror," says Al Oppenheiser, GM's North American rear-drive vehicle chief engineer and effectively the new Camaro's father.

The other interior shots from elsewhere don't look too radically different. I don't see light years of difference.
still basically the same weird design mix of square bug eye guage pods with round guages, rectangular guages in the console and mixture of round and rectangular vents. Like it was all designed by separate people in isolation then put together.
I'm glad someone likes it.

Wow, it looks like the Camaro is setting the bar high for the Mustang. I really liked the Camaro concept when it came out, and I think that GM did a real good job of maintaining the integrity of the concept. The production interior is a bit different, but nice, and looks to be of high quality.
My biggest problem with the Camaro is the amount of time it has taken to move this vehicle towards production, especially since we have been seeing pre-production pics for quite some time now.
As impressive as the SS is going to be, I'm even more impressed with the V6. 300 hp using the CTS's direct inject V6, along with an independent rear suspension, and the RS package which includes the 20 inch wheels and HIDs. Not too mention the small stuff like paddle shifters for the automatic, painted side mirrors and a modern integrated antenna.
I'm more of a Mustang enthusiast, and would always look at a Mustang first. I'm confident the styling of the 2010 Mustang will look great and the interior will be of higher quality than the current car, and more potent engines will soon follow. But if the Camaro is competitively priced to the V6 and GT Mustangs, with a more advanced suspension (no matter what the proponents of a solid rear axle argue), along with the "small stuff" I mentioned above, most of which I don't expect to be on the next Mustang, then I could see myself being swayed over to GM if I were in the market for another muscle car.
I'll hold final judgement until we see the new Mustang, but I'll give GM props for the job they have done with the new Camaro.

i think the interior is utter garbage in this car. how much sense does it make to put gauges by the shifter, even if it is retro? And to top it off they put a nintendo style d-pad (directional pad) on the radio controls? I play a lot of video games but i dont want that in my car....
the exterior is okay but by now im tired of it. they really should have integrated those reverse lights into the tail lights or something, it looks tacky.
overall im sure the gm boys are satisfied cuz it has a good powerplant. good luck with the ADMs lol
