245/45zr20s on the V6? yowza.
And over 1700kilo's = over 3747lbs

Dual exhaust on the V6 (almost 300hp)
Camaro badge on the side, RS badge on the back.
rear diffuser looks... meh for some reason.

LED 3rd break light in the rear window.
STUPID GM badge by front wheel (those things were a waste of money for GM)

Same style front lights as the new 2010 stang...
looks like that is the new headlight bucket for hids...

No scoop on the RS

7000 redline?! wow.
Stupid Torque meter in the conosole as well as Volts, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure.
Dash has Fuel and engine Temp.

Rear lights look better than they did, but thats still not saying much. The only thing I find strange is the rear diffuser. It looks like the red are above it protrudes out further than the bumper. I don;t know where the bumper is. Does it go acroos the license plate or is it that small thin protusion above the rear diffuser. Something is worng there.

A few things I dislike: 1) Those backup lights make me cringe. 2) Where will a nav go, either factory of aftermarket? 3) I know this is really minor, but I dont like the way the H pattern is not on the shifter, makes it look like an auto. 4) that steering wheel is HUGE.

Are those PROJECTOR HID's I see? Impressive (none of this crap ford has). I do like everything else.
So is the Z28 really dead?

They should offer one more V8 engine since there is a huge difference between 3.6L and 6.2L.

Maybe 6.0L from Pontiac G8.

What's up with this whole RS thing?

The Camaro will come in LS, LT and full-on SS specs

Holy pork-rinds Batman! Actually, I would love to act surprised but I'm not. The way this is phrased makes it seem as though the base models will check in at 3700lb and change with everything else slotting in above that making these cars just barely lighter than the G8 which is exactly where I thought they would be. FWIW, the LS-powered G8 weighs about 100lb more than the V6 model. If we make the assumption that these numbers are indeed for the V6 car adding 100lb to a 3750+lb V6 model would effectviely make any V8 Camaro a 3900lb car. To put that in perspective consider the reality that the GRWD Mustang coming sometime around CY 2011-2012 has a target weight of about 3250lb, and that is with an IRS setup out back.

Of course there could be more to the story, we'll know Monday when GM makes things a bit clearer.

I'm pretty sure 3,700+ lbs is SS's weight, not a base Camaro.

292 HP for a V6 is a lot, thats almost as much HP as the Mustang GTs got. Ford better have a new engines for the upcoming mustang.

New Camaro

Other than the HID headlights, there's not really much I like about the new Camaro. While the interior looks to use high-quality materials, I still think its design and execution is a bit hokey. Yeah, it's got powerful engines, but I am confident that Ford will address that in the Mustang in the not-so-distant-future. With all of the surface detail, angles and such, one has to wonder if Chris Bangle had a hand in the design of the new Camaro. ha ha

that makes 1 of us.. i don't like the game controller radio, the really lop side looking steering wheel and those guages infront of the shifter should have stayed in 1969.

Other then that the interior looks fine.

Cool

I like it.

Painted mirrors, no antenna, a sunroof, and the interior looks nice and futuristic. Even the build materials look to be better quality then past GM vehicles. Only thing I don't like is the bottom of the rear end. It also looks like it has hud and surround sound system with the center speaker. Flame suit on

I'll bet you it's not.

That 1700kilo's is probably the V6.
The SS is probably around 3900lbs
and the Z28 is probably busting 4000 with its supercharging hardware.

It's NOT a light car.
Lighter than the challenger yes... but the stang will probably come in lighter of the 3

-----------

I still loathe that interior.
Center console looks like a bloody playstation controller.
Thrown together shapes and symbols...much like the outside.

Those rear backup lights TOTALLY look like a 2nd thought...and its well known that it was. But then nothing else they can do about it at the time. It was the best of a bad situation.

You're right Boomer that interior is horrific. For some reason Chevy/GM loves this grey thats not charcoal or black, but a medium grey. Its been in the cars for two decades now. And it always looks like it came out of the Chevy truck parts bin with lots of plastic. Where's the cohesion. It's just all over the place. It would take forever to get used to the buttons and gauages in all those odd places. It looks like its just sculpted from plastic. I think someone posted the Malibu dash earlier this year and it was better than this. All it has is those "retro" pods with the speedo and tach and even thats been messed up. I loathe it. But the exterior is an improvement over the mules. I still think between the concept and now it is "lost in translation".

At the moment the rumors of the Z/28's demise are still just that, rumors. (although I have to say I personally think the likelihood is good we wont ever see that car) That said, I'm betting Boomer is right and the 3750lb+ car is most likely the base car given the way the numbers were presented. But, even assuming that isn't the case, we are looking at a best case scenario of a base V8 Camaro weighing in at something above 3750lb. So, effectively, the question is whether the V8 Camaro is a 3800lb car or a 3900lb car. She's a porker either way.

I suppose my feelings on the issue can best be summed up like this. She isn't a bad looking girl, but at heart she isn't a Camaro, she's a Chevelle.
