Yep, I spoke about this months ago. All of Chrysler's forthcoming 'B' segment cars will be made by Chery.

Welcome to Cherypar. Gives a whole new meaning to the term, "compact" car, don't it?

This is why Chrysler is finished, IMHO.

They are on the march to becoming the super-economy and world power, do you really think they care that much about safety? As an example, not only are thier cars unsafe, but you can also use thier pet food products as vermin poison, your chinese toothpaste will absolutely not freeze in cold weather and toys imported from China also double as handy radiation shields.

Now the scary part, China backs a large portion of the US debt, and they are gobbling more of it up every day, if people don't think that buys some serious leverage here in the US and will allow them to let more of this stuff in (with the US most likely just passing BS legislation to placate its native masses) keep the blinders on.

And that's a fact.

Specifically, the addiction to cheap Chinese products has led to a massive trade imbalance and an enormous trade debt where the Chinese have a vast holding of US treasuries ($1.33 trillion of foreign reserves)...all of which – and this is the truly extraordinary irony of the whole **** thing – is funding China’s massive military buildup.

The subprime lending industry is in a shambles, Americans are deeply in debt – some only BARELY able to make mortgage payments – and the housing market is poised to collapse. And the reason the US economy still appears strong is completely artificial – because the big corporations are posting massive profits.

Get ready for a dystopian future where corporations control everything.

Not everyone is credit-screwed. Pay attention. If I buy a $45K car (which I can't afford) I desrve to get screwed. Ain't no salesman (well, very few) that will tell you that you ought not buy more car than your wallet can afford. Got an ARM? Do your best to refinance into a fixed.
Pay off your debts as fast as you can. I was able to turn a 60 month lain in to 30 month loan. True, I didn't party a lot, but the car is finally paid off.

I saw that too... seems that they are so excited that they finally passed a test (or so it seems) that they went and made a commercial about it.

Does anyone know the speeds both cars (the one in the first post, and the one right before my post) were going?

64 km/h (40 mph).

There is a full scale frontal impact test performed at 64 km/h into a deformable barrier face, the vehicle is offset allowing 40% of its width to contact the barrier.
