If you don't get it or have missed it Road & Track did an interesting 'test'

0-200 miles per hour with the following cars: Lamborghini MurciƩlago, Ruf Rt 12, Merc SLR McLaren, twin-turbo Lingenfelter C6 Corvette, Venom 1000 Twin Turbo Viper, and Bugatti Veyron 16.4

Once I saw the viper in the test, I knew it would win...those things are rockets.

 

I'm surprised no one had a GT in there. I'd be anxious to see what one with just a pulley swap, and tune can do.

Pretty sweet article, but even a pullied/tuned GT wouldnt finish better than mid pack in that group at best. That Viper is unbelievable, 1100hp to the ground supposedly? 3.1lb/hp

 

Probably the only actual completed viper from that crook

I'd still rather have the Veyron..a better car in every other respect..period.

The Veyron does all of it's work without breathing hard and the Viper has to sit with Ice on it's noggen

Bet if they didn't baby it the viper would have lost.

Simply put the viper was never made to have that kind of HP and the Veyron is. Overall Bugatti has a better car

But hell I have a HUGE biased against Hennesy anyway so his stuff will never win in my book

Yeah, I've read terrible things about Hennessey stuff. I don't love the Veyron, but the thing is a work automotive wonder. I'd still take the Lamborghini over any of them, but that's just me.

 

I have had a go at R&T in the past, but that article was just great motoring journalism. Well done to them.

(Oh, this boy from Manchester has been to the NAS base where they did that test! Small world, eh?)

 

I'd like to see someone crank of up the boost on the veyron....

 

YEah...most of those car had a lot of aftermarket work done to them....lets see the Veyron with about $50,000 worth of mods.

 

Lol. Hey mine dont leak oil it just burns it. But as I have always heard it doesn't start to run good until it burns a little oil.

And as far as the GT hitting midpack with that crowd, true enough as it would be somewhere around 650+ hp but hell in that line up even the low side commands respect.

 

I would like to have seen the infamous Joe's TwinTurbo Ford GT out there... definitely would've made for an interesting show.

 

Wouldn't that be like an oil change in a Veyron? Is it not enough that the car costs 1.6 mil by itself? I doubt any of those cars even sniffed the price of the Veyron even with the heavy mods.

 

The Veryon probably cost close to what all of those others combined.

 

And 1.6 million is before the ADM They talk like they are top fuel dragsters for acceleration force, where those are easily at 200 in under 3 seconds
