Good point Zoran! I wanted to smack Doug upside the head. He doesnt know how hard it is to learn a second language when you come to this country from another one. I was born here, but I still dont have a complete mastering of the English Language (it isn't my home language)

There is just one small difference that is hardly worth mentioning: You were born in the USA; I was not.

The question is how many 78 Honda civics are still on the road and how many 78 Ford Mustang II KING COBRA's are on the roads. ALOT more KING COBRA's! Why? because who wants to pick up chicks in a 78 Honda Civic?
Japanese didn't becamed where they are now until late 1980s.

How many late 1980s Corrolla's and Camry's can you see on the road? And then, how many late 1980s Escorts and Taurus' can you see on the road? Compare numbers, even though Escort and Taurus were 2 best selling cars at that time.
[/b][/quote]

The 78 Honda civic was as reliable (maybe more) than a 78 King Cobra, the King is on the road because its the King. The King is on the road because it stands out from the crowd. The Honda was crushed because it was an econobox. Now one Japanese car from the 70's stood out too, that was the 280Z. I used to have one, there still around cause there worth keeping and restoring. A Honda Civic wasn't, isn't and never will be worth restoring. Thats why more 05 mustangs will be on the road in 2035 than 05 Civics. all the corrolla's and camry's and escorts and taurus' will be crushed in time, but there will still be mustangs at car shows.

No one will be restoring 05 Mustang. People today restore 64-73 Mustangs, hardly anyone is doing Mustang IIs or Fox body.
How many restored 1979+ Mustang you saw? I only saw few of them.

There certainly are a large number of companys making reproduction parts for 79+ mustangs, so I would believe business must be good. Mustang II parts go for lots of money on ebay, and manufacturers are just starting to reproduce parts for the II. Now you can buy seat upholstry, and bumper covers for the II. A II coupe sold for over $12,000 a few months ago. A king cobra sold for over $ 18,000 on ebay recently, and a completely ground up restored COBRA II (Collector Insurance appraised for $50,000) beat a GT500 to win first place at show recently. check out the MustangII net!

The 05 Mustang is selling at a fast pace not seen in 25 years, the last time ford sold this many new mustangs in april was in 1980. The 05 has been praised in every published review out there. Its the hottest car on the road today, and call me crazy but I think someday someone might restore one. Granted there isn't a nuclear war soon.

Ford is planing to sell around 190,000 Mustangs this year. But just 5 years earlier, Ford sold 215,000 Mustang. So its been only 5 years since Mustang was selling this good, not 25.
There are companies that are producing replacement parts for 1974+ Mustangs, but not many people are actually restoring 1974+ Mustangs. Not nobody, but also not many.

Oh well, that is different story. It said "the highest APRIL SALES", so that is just for April. But still, 2000 Mustang is better seller than 2005 Mustang.

Ford can't produce new mustangs fast enough, thats whats keeping sales at 190,000, I bet next year they increase capacity and surpass the 215,000 units of 5 years ago.

You have to admit demand for the new body style is much greater than anything we've seen in years, right? Have you EVER seen people so crazy to talk about a CAR online at midnight?? I should go out to the bar and try to score with a chick!

Well, Kings are losing so I have nothing better to do. Looks like playoff is over for them. Oh well, at least Stojakovic will be rested enough for European Cup in Serbia this summer (and I'll be there to watch it live).

Well since your from serbia, you must know Tito died 25 years ago (It was in yahoo news). How about the Yugo, that was one heck of a nice import in the 80's wasn't it! How much did they sell for new? wasn't it like 6K?

I don't think Zoran was trying to say that Yugo's are better than Fords. If this decends any more down the name calling route, I'm locking it. Can we try to get back to the issue at hand?

Good old times with Tito (even though he died before I was born).
Yugo was good domestic car (it still is), but really bad import. You can buy them now for as little as $50 on eBay. Once I finish school I'm planing to buy one and drop bigger engine in it. There was once Yugo in Car and Driver that was called "Vette killer" because it was faster than Corvette Z06. I wanna do something similar to that.
I never drove Yugo in my life (although I did drove similar car from same company called Scala 101). I'm going home (Serbia) next Friday and I'm planing to rent Yugo for a summer.
