Both Taurus and Camry were used when I bought them. Yeah, they do put salt on the road in Wisconsin and that may be the biggest reason why Taurus had rust, but then how do you explain the fact that Camry does not have any rust at all. Nothing on that car worked correctly. I mean, fact that I sold it to junk yard for $50 tells you everything about car.

Was the Taurus maintained as well as the Camry? Or was it abused and not cared for at all by the previous owners? That could be the reason for it rusting out.

Having problems at 50,000 miles on top Intrepid offered by Dodge in 1997 is a big deal. I mean, back home my dad had 1984 Yugo Scala 101 and even Yugo didn't had as many problems as Dodge did. Most of those problems are minor, but I don't wanna have $1,500 worth of problems on 50,000 miles car. Before we moved to Wisconsin in 2002, I drove Dodge to dealership to check everything on him and they found almost $1,500 problems.

People may make fun of Escort or Cavalier, but no one, who knows anything about cars, ever made fun of my car. People who are making fun of muscle cars such as Mustang, Camaro, and/or Firebird are usually onec who can't afford them, the one who keep saying "even if I had a chance to buy Mustang I wouldn't do it". Jealousy my friend.
Styling does play fact in sales numbers, but Japanese never had good looking cars. I'm mean, Camry was always ugly, Civic too. But those 2 cars were always in top of sales.
[/quote]
A Camry is not exactly ugly, it's just kind of plain. But compared to the '96 Taurus
styling, it looks normal, while the '96 Taurus was , well, very different... and after '96 redesign is when the Taurus slipped from the number 1 sales spot.

Just curious, what kind of problems have you had with the Camry? Be honest...

I don't know who owned Taurus before me (I only had it for a year or so and most of the time I was not driving it because I couldn't pass emission test; I didn't even had muffler on it). But if Taurus was bad because previous owner didn't took good care, I really don't know why Intrepid is so bad, because me and later my dad took really good care of him. In the past 2 years my dad is only driving it on the weekends when he's home.
I honestly did not had any problems with Camry. We bought it almost 3 years ago and other than regular maintenance (oil change and stuff like that) we never did anything else on the car. It was in the accident last year, really bad one, over $5,000 damage.
I liked design of 1996-1999 Taurus. I think even ugliest Taurus looked better than most beautiful Camry.

I'm gonna assume that you're asking me if 04 Cobra is lower quality than 04 Camry, because its really not realistic to compare 2004 $34,000 SVT Cobra with my 1994 $5,000 Camry, don't you think?
So, yes, 04 Cobra is lower quality than 04 Camry, and yes 04 Cobra is better quality than 94 Camry.
I never owned Cobra, but they can't last 300,000 miles without major problems like Camry can.

And you need to get a life kid. Once you get a license and start driving, maybe you'll understand some things. Until then, drive you bicycle and don't talk about things you don't understand. It only makes you dumber than you already are.

actually, quite the contrare, for one, i broke my bike, for 2 u obviously never have anything positive to say about this sites discussions, and for 3, u think toyota camry is the best vehicle in the world. which is gonna last longer huh? a 6.0 PSD F-350 or a Camry?? NOT the camry. the camry wont outlast a cobra cuz the camry will rot and fall apart before the cobra does. i have a life, and i am about to use my other tool, called the ignore feature.
Edit- I think its pretty sad that u have to stoop to such levels of making fun of me due to my age?? those comments about "what car" and the bike thing are totally unnessecary.

Maybe Toyota's and Honda's are more reliable and last longer than Fords, (I don't believe that) BUT THE POINT IS THIS IS AMERICA AND IF YOU SUPPORT YOUR COUNTRY AND ITS INDUSTRY THEN YOU SHOULD BUY AMERICAN! Don't let those ricer punks, liberals and enviromentalists convince you that a TOYOTA is just as american as a FORD. Yes toyota might have a factory over here and maybe they employ thousands of workers here, but the fact is toyota will always be a japanese company flying the rising sun and Ford will always be Red White and Blue star spangled banner AMERICAN. Don't be an import driving traitor, unless you want the USA to end up like the UK where there no longer are any real domestic auto manufacturers.
#47
i agree, the 2 best american manufactuers, DC and Ford make incredible vehicles, too bad i cant say the same for GM as of now. I wont buy any non-american brand the way things are now, maybe they will change, but i doubt it.
#48
And the COBRA will always outlast the Camry, if for no other reason but the fact that there are hundreds of thousands of ordinary generic Camry's and people will run them all into the ground in the next 20 years, but some kid will pick up the COBRA in 20 years and fall in love with it and restore it. In 20 years the GT500 will be in a car show while the much more reliable rice burning camry will be in the junk yard.

Find me the Cobra that have that many miles. You can go as far as you want in history of Mustangs (you can even use Mustang II if you would like).

any car can go 300K miles if your willing to put enough money into it. The Best Mustang, a 69 Boss 429 might need major work after a few hundred miles of burning rubber and drag racing. Its how you take care of a car that determines how long it lasts, and if your willing to stick more money into it. believe it or not any car from the 70's would not last much over 20K miles without maintenance. Any car built before 1980 is gonna need a major overhaul to stay on the road over 100K miles. I don't care what car your talking about, if you beat it and run it into the ground and you don't do any maintenance it will die. If your willing to spare no expense to keep it on the road it will stay on the road, unless you take it off the road and into a tree going 110MPH.
