I experience a hard downshift bump just before coming to a complete stop and it does not happen all the time. Its also felt if I put the car in neutral and glide to a stop, the bump travels through the driveshaft and is heard from the rear I recently check with a Ford dealer and they have no tech bullentins addressing this problem, I know i'm not the only one experiencing this. Has anyone with this problem had it fixed by the Ford Dealer.

 

I only had same thing happen when downshifting from 3rd to 2nd gear.
Its rare, but it only happens between those 2 gears. Specially when coasting towards a STOP sign, where I might not stop completely and just slowly roll through it, with little momentum.

I think it might be related on the RPM at the given time you downshift on the automatic, but I think I had it "bump" from 3rd to 2nd even on a full stop maybe couple times, so I dont know.

 

The idle i think is to high contributing to the downshift jerk/bump. The dealer said the idle was fine and that they cannot adjust it. Ford needs to address this problem on a big scale.
