I heard somewhere that ford is going to reintroduce the Bronco in 07. Does anyone know anything about this?

Yes, I heard something about that. I remember that I saw on TV a video of the new Bronco. Looks very agressive.

Well, Ford discontinued the 2 door Explorer, so, the Bronco might take its place

I hope so. The new Bronco is a monster. If they do bring it back I know I would want one.

I learned to drive in a '71 302/ 3 speed "on the tree" so I really liked the concept . . . but I want them to put a V-8 in it . . . but I can live without the column shifter

I sat in the new bronco today (Albany, NY car show.) It's a niiiiice concept car. Oddly, the entire undercarriage is covered with plastic panels, though, so I couldn't really see anything down there because of that, and they had the hood closed and wouldn't let anyone open it. Oh well. Saw a legend lime mustang and a white+blue GT as well.

I really want them to put the Bronco into production assuming they do it on a capable platform, I don't really want a rebodied escape. If it starts below 20K, and has a removable top, I'll be first in line for one!

Double sunroofs... didn't see if they were removable or not.

Any news about this, last I read that the escape, ranger and ecohoopty from SA were candidates for the bronco. I think mays said he wanted the defender to share the platform, and someone else from ford implied that would be negative for land rover. How many people think that the average defender 90 buyer would know that the bronco had the same or similar chassis as his $80,000 suv? I say ditch the NOS, make the diesel a little bigger and build it on the defender.

Is it true that new Bronco would be powered by I6 instead of V8?
