I really love this car!!! It looks so futuristic it isn't even funny. Totally different from any exotic out there. I can't wait till the local Audi dealer gets one in, so I can go over and take a few pics with my camera.

Following their usual policy (=see Euro prices for the S4, RS4, S6 and how much less they are in the USA), this means probably some $98/100k for the 6sp man., and some $106/108 for the R-Tronic...
Basically, as far as price is concerned, its rivals are the BMW M6 and the Porsche 911 4S...
Personally, if I had this kind of money to spend on a car, I'd take the R8: it's just gorgeous in and out (and it doesn't hurt that it weighs some 3400 lbs...). As far as exterior styling is concerned, this is the future of exotic cars, IMHO.
Congrats to Audi on this one !

Thats interesting since they just introduced it to the public, and they won't be on sale for a while. The one you saw, was it camoflagued, or did it have manufacturer plates on it?

The car wasn't camo'd and didn't have a plate in front, only a "paper plate in the rear - a lot of expensive/exotic cars there don't seem to use front plates. Not familiar with license plate rules for that state. It was the same color and it definitely wasn't the new TT as it also had those rear vents, which are hard to ignore. Spotted it turning off "the strip" coming across my POV in an intersection. The first thing that came to mind was "So they finally built it, huh?" - But after reading your post, maybe I'm not so sure. If only I had a camera on me! BTW, at the TI hotel/casino, there was a Ferrari F430 in the self-park area mixed in with all the other "normal" cars - talk about guts...

Yeah, too bad you didn't have a camera. I'm 99.9% sure it wasn't the car. I just read that the US deliveries don't start till next October. Europe gets it this coming spring. Soup to nuts, it wasn't the R8. Hey, could it have been a Bugatti? Hey, since it was in Las Vegas, it could have been the Koenigsegg, as Cesaers Palace is the only place to get one at.

I remember reading quite a few articles around about the R8 being spotted in the USA while testing, just a month ago or something like that. So, it might not have been the production model that was just unveiled at the Paris Motorshow, but it's possible that he might have seen the R8 being tested somewhere around here...
