Never really liked the Camaros..........loved the firebirds though.
However after seeing this photo..that's got a Hemi-Cuda/Chevelle kinda feel......I like it.
Don't mess it up GM. Bring back the Firebird!

omfg not the kids artwork 'concept' again :bang:
they dont have a platform yet, how can they be 'working' on anything already
I do like this:
Cadillac’s Sigma platform was considered the leading architecture for which to base the new Camaro. Several issues however came up with this choice, the first one of which being the cost of the Cadillac platform which was not designed with Chevrolet prices in mind
Sound famillar?
I call BS, nothing but talk so far, no action.

and a powerful V8 engine, but with a modern OHC, not the old pushrod V8 used in the Vette. Ford made the transition to OHC engines throughout their lines, GM can too.

Chevy's modern pushrod engines are plenty good.
The LS2 is 6.0 liters and pumps out 400 hp with 500 hp being rumored in the next Z06.
400 / 6.0 = 66.67 hp per liter. (1 cam, 16 valves)
applying this to the new 3v mod motor
66.67 x 4.6 = 307 hp or around what Ford is stating for the new engine (2 cams, variable cam timing and 24 valves)
Interesting huh. the LS2 shouldn't be able to compete with the 3v mod motor, it apparently lacks the technological fire power to compete with the Ford, but it does compete on an nearly equal basis.

Chevys 3.4 liter v6s really blow. I can tell you this from experience, and lots of lost $$$$ putting one back together..
First- Gm is using this orange crud called dex(death) cool for coolant. It slowly eats your engine- through the intake manifold.
So you get to replace the intake manifold gasket, no small feat because you have to take the top off the sitting wrong(Sideways front wheel drive) engine top. In the process you have probably broken your water pump which has exploded onto your serpentine belt fraying it. After you replace all that, which is not cheap, the sludge the death cool made sits in your radiator, even after flushing and changing to the green stuff, and you have to replace the entire cooling system- radiator, coolant tank, hoses and thermostat. The latter I have not yet done, because a radiator is $$$$$$.
When you wait around to do this, it doesn't get better- you drive in Alabama heat, and your temp gauge shoots sky high until you turn off the air burning to death in the process. Not fun.
I also had to replace the front axle and wheel bearings, and replace brake pads twice a year because of excessive wear. The Alternator is apparently also an issue- I blew one of those out a year ago today. My car is a pretty car, but its another expensive repair waiting to happen.
I love a good chevy, have driven GM most of my life. If they made a camaro, I would probably drive one of them too(Unless it was death cooled). But until Death cool dies, I am switching to Ford.

I say we'll prolly see the Cougar at the 05 Auto Show. The motortrend rendition was completely badace.
Anyone wanna photochop a t/a?
Still a 4 door charger will **** me off. Its an insult to a legend.
but theres still time for the Hemi-Cuda.
