It's not that I hate the GTO, it's just the name doesn't seem to match the car and I (my opinion) believe they could have done a better job with the body style.
i've sed it before n ill say it again: the new GTO's styling is like taking a really hot chick n putting her in clothes that make her look bad. honestly its a nice car, but i don't think it should be called the GTO. or at least have different styling.

Well, as I've said to some people before...
If GM had been considering importing the Monaro a bit longer and had intended a larger (than 18,000 unit) allocation. Then simply brought both the 2 and 4 door versions over (perhaps producing it here, though I don't know how viable that would be, and in the real-world time table I know it wasn't viable) and simply called it the Grand Prix, or if they insisted on building the GP they do now perhaps the name Tempest would have worked. I think in that situation, with more engine options it would have been well received. Bah, give me total control of GM and all would tremble before my supreme domination of the car market.

Pontiac hopes to position the GTO as its version of the Chevrolet Corvette - an aspirational vehicle that is the "soul of the brand
Wow if Pontiac makes the GTO an "aspirational vehicle" well into the 30k range I am really gonna be PISSED!!!! I am waiting patiently for the next one to come out but from the quote above it seems I might be wasting my time. I have heard quote in R & T that the GTO def is coming back, as in a full redsign, but no firebird. Oh, and camaro too.
