(Unofficial) TMS MEET IN ATLANTIC CITY
Is there any interest of having a TMS get together at the Atlantic City Classic Car Show and Auction??? I was thinking of 2/25/06 for the date. It's a Saturday. There's supposed to be some really wicked cars down there. The website is http://www.acclassiccars.com. Check it out and post whether your interested!!!! I already know of maybe 3 or 4 of us that are interested. It would be nice to get like 10 and have our own corner of the lot!!

I called the event because I didn't see any info on the link about it being a show as well as an auction. This is what the gentleman told me.
It is not like a cruise-in or show. The cars for "viewing" are the 1200 cars on the indoor showroom floor which are for auction. We can't park there. (unless we want to pay $400 for a space and just not auction our car). Outside there will be one show/judging event going on in "hot rod" alley but it is only open to hot rods and non hot rods cannot park in that lot. So basically we'd be parking in a parking lot or parking garage with the general public.
I've never been to this event. If someone has and can speak to the contrary please do. I just didn't want us to drive down there expecting to park in a show lot only to have to park in a garage with minivans.
I haven't heard from anybody that has been there that can speak otherwise so no further updates. Lee (HiRoller), have you been there before and indeed it is a show too and not just an auction event?
I'm sorry if I misled you guys.....It's mostly a classic car auction. I just thought it would be a cool place for all of us to meet up and hang out...not necessarily show our cars.
If you guys want, I can take a ride down to the convention center and check out the parking situation. Maybe there is a place for all of us to park in an area that we can park together and hang out?

Hey Lee (HiRoller), No worries
Yeah it's always cool to check out great cars. Thanks for lookin' out and making the offer to scout ahead but isn't AC about an hour from you? That's far, 2 hour r/t. I wouldn't want you to go through all that.
I found a link about parking.
Whadya guys think?

I have been to that show a few times. The indoor part is for auction cars only and the swap meet. Just to let you guys know the place gets so packed you would have to be so lucky to park together or hold spots. It is a really good show, if you never been there you should try to see it.
I plan on going down, but on Sunday. I can't get the day off on Saturday. Plus. the bonus with going on Sunday, the sellers at the flea market area, make better deals on all the items that they are selling. They don't have to take all their stuff that they are selling back home. It is a cool show to go to. Last year, I went on Sunday, and Chip Foose was there signinig autographs.
. Waited 3 hours for a signature, and I'd do it again, what a great guy.

This is not a "show". It is an indoor auction / swap meet. Only registered auction cars are allowed inside.
Hot Rod Alley is one section inside that does give awards for their cars. I don't remember if it's participant vote, spectator vote, or actually judged.
I think you have to be invited to "show" your car. (send them photos, they say yes or no)
The parking garage is not multi-story. It is parking under the convention center and it is tight spaces. When it gets full, it's full.
You can't go up where nobody is like a multi-deck garage.
Your best place to park and meet is probably The Borgata hotel/casino parking deck. Multi-level, lots of spaces.
You don't go around ramps to get up & down, you drive straight up the center hill and break off in the middle of a level.
I've gone every year for the last five or so, but don't know if it will be Sat. or Sun. this year.
I can probably answer most general questions you have.
