Recommend a dealer in the Wash, DC area?
Hey that's where I got my Mustang! Since I bought the car from Ted Britt, when I had to take it in they gave me a lawn mower---er....Focus as a loaner. There weren't any mechanical problems, only some factory paint defects that the dealer didn't want to touch, because they didn't think they'd do an up to par job. They gave me a list of paint shops they usually use and told me they'll make arrangements for Ford to pay for it. I respect their honesty and haven't heard anything bad about them.
AVOID Battlefield Ford in Manassas VA,
last week I hit a large puddle in a rain storm and the engine got wet, later I got a Check Engine Light, plugged in my SCT II to the car to view the CEL Code. It Showed a DTC P0340 Camshaft Position Sensor "A" Circuit" I reset the codes and the CEL came back the next day. So I dropped my car off at Battlefield Ford. They called me later and said that the problem is the generator, but they could not replace it under warranty because of the aftermarket underdrive pulleys, and he said that they may have damaged the generator.
I looked up the code DTC P0340 and I found a TSB 06-02-09 DTC P0340/P0344/P0345/P0349 - 4.6L 3V AND 5.4L 3V
Some 2005-2006 Mustang GT vehicles, equipped with 4.6L 3V engine, may exhibit a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0340 and/or P0344. This may be due to a malfunctioning diode or open phase connection in the generator.

Stay the heck away from Tyson's Ford!!! They are the epitome of a bad dealer. I personally use Sheehy Ford in Springfield and they haven't let me down yet, even did my alignemnt after lowering for just around $500. They've been good to me despite the fact I didn't buy from them. Incidentally, they have lots of Mustangs and GTs on their lot, they could probably could work a deal if anyone is lookng for one.

Thanks for the replies so far - I am in DC itself, but I know I'm going to have to do some driving for service because there are only 1-2 Ford dealers even inside the beltway (and none in the city.)
So far that's a pro Ted Britt and a Sheehy - both about the same drive. Not sure why Britt would charge for a loaner for folks who didn't buy there - I would think they'd like to make money servicing a car someone else sold, and heck, maybe get them as a buyer next time.
Are either of these dealerships SVT (or I guess formerly SVT) dealers?
Any other suggestions/experience?

Not sure where you are at in DC, but I bought from Sheehy in Springfield. Sale went "OK", but after calling the service department and getting a lot of runaround on the phone I've opted instead to go to Ourisman World of Ford in Alexandria. So far so good, despite not having bought there they've treated me really well.

Ourisman is one of the closer ones to the city - do they give you a loaner car? what's their attitude toward your mods? thanks
They also get bonus points for having some of the least annonying tv ads (relatively) of the local dealers.

I'll have an answer for that tomorrow - I have to take mine back for the Axle TSB, it's still making noise. So far all of my mods are exterior - but next up is lowering springs which is why I want this TSB fixed. Granted, they didn't get it right the first time, but they've been very professional throughout the process, so I'll give them another shot at it.

Ted Britt is a Saleen dealer, not sure about SVT, but they do have 2 Ford GTs there, so I'd guess so. They say they've sold about 9 so far. As far as the sales experience goes, it was great. They knew exactly what they were doing, scheduling a test drive was no problem, and when I picked the car up, they had one of the sales people drive my old car back to my home for me (and another in one of their cars so they could get back to the dealer), and even gave me some tips on driving the car before I took it off the lot. Being such a large dealer with such a priority, they get their cars faster than a lot of other dealers (my entire order took 7 weeks to complete, including delivery, and only took that long because of a rail car shortage) and they can even modify their inventory orders to match your specifications.
I went to Sheehy once when I was shopping around, so can't say much. The salesman seemed out of it and didn't really seem to know what he was doing. They were going to give me a $500 discount on top of my X-plan pricing, which was against the terms of the plan, and according to some people, there are cases where Ford finds out and goes after the buyer looking for the extra money back. Not sure how much I trust the last part myself, but I did read off Ford's website that NO other discounts are eligible with x-plan. So not sure what Sheehy was trying there, probably just trying to help me out though.

I stopped by Ourisman this morning - they have to order parts so it will be Thurs or Fri before I drop it off again. They don't have a loaner program, but apparently my extended warranty can be used to get a car (they have Enterprise on site).

Good info guys. I work and live in Alexandria. Britt sounds OK.
