People who hear about NY don't know there is life above the CITY. They think we are part of Canada up here. All they have to do is come up here anytime for a weekend or what ever and find out how beautiful it is. ( Lake George, Lake Placid and the rest of the Adirondack area)
Yes we have winter, but I still can drive my GT from April to Nov, before putting it away. And in six months there is a lot of fun to be had. So let them tell us we are in no mans land, but we love it.

I grew up just south of Buffalo (in the snow belt), now I've been stationed in Norfolk/Virginia Beach for the last 17 years and I love it. I love going home to visit and all but I don't need to put up with snow from October-May..... It's pretty cold down here too.... Up to 25 today. I really can say I don't miss it that much.

I spent the previous 5 years living in Knoxville, TN & Flowery Branch, GA......and I saw plenty of confederate flags, that's for sure. 
I do miss Georgia though....especially when it's winter time in the Pacific Northwest.

I am suffering from a serious case of cabin fever. After spending 15 years in Dallas, I just CANT get used to this. However just like waiting for my car, I'll forget all about it in the summer time B)

Married to a born and bred New Yorker(Long Island)........I have been there in the summertime exactly once where it was not so cold I wanted to die. (August 2001 weather was perfect- 90s and everyone was poed because it was warm)... Last summer it was in the 70s in July and you woulda thought it was 100 up there. I was freezing. Summer before that it was so cold(60s) in June I got a cold.
I do love ny,Love it a lot, my favorite bridge in the World is in NY(verrazano sp? narrows) I just have zero desire to do more than visit a couple times a year. I got stuck in a blizzard last time I was there in winter- going through upstate NY we hit the Taconic Pkwy exit and had to turn around and go back until the roads opened back up. Gimme my monsoons and tornadoes...
Here in beautiful bammy, if I can keep from freezing up- in about six weeks spring will spring and be smooth sailing until Thanksgiving..
Oh and I took the pony out, it was still cold- grr........ :bang: And the auto shop was CLOSED.

I live 50 miles south of Lake George and never been to the Americade. What's it Like??
You have described the driving in the Lake George region very well. It's amazing and you never get bored of it. It's just that beautiful.

Here's the Americade 2005 Website, sure you'll find plenty of pictures there.
I'm not sure what the main strip in Lake George is called, but on that road major bike vendors set up shop where you can take bikes for test rides, see the up and coming models, etc. Also lots of people with little tents selling everything you can think of.
Everyone is riding around the area during the day, but at night, the main strip is lined with motorcycles. Right from one end to the other, I'm guessing about 1.5 or 2 miles of road lined with motorcycles on each side. Lots of great restaurants, mom n pop type places, people with wild bikes riding around, doing stunts (getting nailed by cops too, seen more than a few bikes taken away on a tow hook).
On the last day there's a parade and a lot of the bikes drive down main street. You see some wild contraptions. An overall great time.

That first pic is of the strip. I hear it's a lot of fun. It's not a mustang show, All kinds of cars are there. It would be nice to gather up a lot of mustang owners for the nightly cruizes through the village. Mustang round up at the Lake for the 2005 Adirondack nationals a must..

We got moved . Were in the right place now. Hey Northeast. Adirondack nationals in the late summer. Keep the event in the back of your mind for now. Hope to see all the mustang owners up there.
