I wonder how many dealers look forward to offering all those A-Z plans when they can make MUCH more money not offering them...

Did you try Al Piemonte in Melrose Park yet? They're pretty nice and the most beautiful Ford dealership I've ever seen (hot dog shop inside and all, lol). They do have a huge inventory which means they move the product well, so check for the sake of um, checking

Email sent to Mr. P...well, at least one of his cronies

I figure, for the A-Z plans, a sale is a sale...

Frank,
I am about 20 minutes north of Naperville and am having similar difficulties. It seems as though all dealers up here are into price-gouging and out of six I emailed, only one responded. That response confirmed my suspicions that they would not sell for less than MSRP, and actually wanted more than MSRP. In my mind, more than MSRP is rediculous for a volume car like the Mustang. Please let me know if you find a dealer willing to play ball.

"When is a sale not a sale?"

A: "When a profit of $1000's less than possible is made."

They'll honor your sales plans, but not until they make much more money without them. Till that happens, you should just go eat all the free hot dogs you can at Al Piemonte's to make up for this sales tactic, eh eh eh...

It seems that the farther from Chi-town I get, it seems the more anxious a dealer is to get over MSRP for the 05... Gjovic Ford in Plano (about 45 miles from Chicago) just told me they had prices when I asked when they were expecting deliveries.

Hopefully some dealers will give me responses to my emails in the morning or afternoon, so I can confirm or deny this.

We need some guys like Kev and Bek here in Chi-Land, seriously...

Wickstrom Ford in Barrington, IL used to be an awesome dealership. (I haven't lived in Barrington in about 6-7 years, but my family had done business with them a number of times.) 7 Ford purchases between my family. Bought my first new car from them in 1995. I would buy from them again . . if I still lived in IL.

EDIT: Anyone have a problem with me moving this to the 'Midwest' section? This thread really belongs in that section.

No one looks at the regional section :stubborn:

Anywho... I got a mail from Elmhurst and Willowbrook...

Elmhurst says "Ford has not authorized the Z-plan"

Willowbrook says they have pre-sold their 3 cars but will sell on Z-plan when their 'allocation is increased'

I grew up in Elmhurst and kind of knew that they were like that!!!!!!!
Now, I bought a Ranger at Willowbrook, and they were a good dealer!!!!!!!

I just sent a question to Willowbrook to see if they will order a GT under the Z-plan (which, I've heard dealers are required to...but every dealer seems to ignore that policy)

We shall see....

If Willowbrook dose not workout, start looking for Ford dealers in the sticks! I am sure they will be able to do it, because a sale is a sale, for them.

My parents went into Packey Webb in Wheaton yesterday to look at a new Taurus and Jag... They asked the sales manager if they would sell the 05 Mustang on Z-plan and he said 'yep'

Probably means they'll sell at MSRP, too... I'm going in today and I'll ask

Well, I waited a few days...but I finally placed my order today...on the Z-plan The guy I dealt with was really cool and seem about excited to put in the order as I was... even this late, it was still the first order placed at Packey Webb...

I'm not sure about this, but I was told their first batch will come in mid to late December (I hope not, I don't know how much longer I can wait :spin: )

You know what Frank, every dealer is still either lying or just doesn't know. Prob is that most folks you talk to don't want to sound dumb, so they lie instead and sound like they're 'in the know'.

I called Woodfield Ford today (got reeeeeally bored, lol) and the salesperson of the moment said "not until January." Um, riiiiiiiight.

Eg. #2 :: Before I ordered at Friendly Ford, I was told "Oh yeah, we've got about 15 preorders". Two weeks ago I stop in and they tell me "Oh yeah, we've got an allocation of 3 Mustangs for the first shipment, and YOURS is one of them."

I've now resorted to listening to my in-house tarot card reader Madam Rubina:

She predicts my Mustang will arrive in late October. Well, that and I will find a freshly plucked rooster in my car parked out front

Went to Willowbrook Ford again and sat down and got pricing. They said they wont take the X-plan now. I asked how long it would take to get a car if I ordered it in a week or 2. They said 4 to 6 months and that by then they might take the X-plan.

Trust me, I take it all with a grain of salt (taste better that way, too)

Max2000jp, go to Packey Webb in Wheaton and talk to 'Grif,' he's in everyday except thursday... Webb will take the letter plans

Hope you all got a brochure for the 05 by now -- local dealers have em' in and they're so nice to sleep next to on a rainy night. Not that I know or anything. Just saying! -_-
