i really need to get a certain tune for my sct tuner thing..i had will at car fx tune it for me but i have no "specific tune" like breenspeed, dyno whatever..anyone think i could get even more gains with a dyno tune or name brand??
#2043
Does anyone know the price of the race fuel at the track?
#2044
My guess is that the tuner is just a generic tune provided by sct for your intake. You will get some gains by getting some tunes from a reputable tuner like brenspeed or bama chips.

I would say yes. I didn't think Will is exactly a tune master.. what did he tune? Could you even tell a differance?

After a search in vain on the tulsa raceway park web site I sent an e-mail to the manager about fuel octane availability and costs.
#2047
im not sure what he tuned i just told him to turn it up all the way haha.. and yes i didn't feel a lag like when u floor it anymore..right when i press it it goes now. but what would u guys recommend? i was thinking of waiting till our dyno day and have the chris guy tune mine from the dyno.

I think that I am going to fo with a couple of gallons of 91 and get a gallon of the 101 if its available. Paul how much 91 do I need if I get 1 gallon of the high octane? Is it 4:1

what kind of gains should i be expecting?
#2051
Well its hard to say Chris? I would think you will see a good seat of the pants improvement. The best way is baseline a good run at the track Fri. then go back and see if you improve over your baseline run.
#2052
of course of course..im still not the greatest stick driver. but deff. getting better. i will run 13.8-14.3 i'm guessing this friday then once we do the dyno day and i run after that i'm hopeing for around 13.4-.13.7 ish
#2053
Sounds reasonable. Remember come with a quarter tank or so of gas NO MORE, leave the spare at home as well as the jack, increase the front tire pressure 5 lbs over the recommended setting, wear long pants, and tennis shoes with a good grip. You should do fine. They do want you to have a skid lid (helmet) if your car runs 13.99 or faster but you can probably get away with it the first time out. If not you can borrow one of ours I'm sure.
#2054
thanks for the info & yes i would have to borrow one of the helemts if i do get caught. thankks
#2055
Well I gotta be at work at 6:30 in the am so I gotta run.
#2056
gonna get me a quick protein shake then bounce tooo.. c ya
#2057
If I go I will have a full tank of 91 that anyone can have........of course if you have any questions about 93 octane I still have four pages of notes from my interview with the gas distributor that I would be happy to share with you.
Jeff, will talk tuners Friday night.
