TheMustangSource.com National Meet - Here's the Plan
All TMS members and their Mustang-driving friends are invited to caravan with The Mustang Source to the Mustang Club of America's 30th Anniversary Stampede on Friday, September 1.
We will meet at Vulcan Park--home to the world's largest cast iron statue--at 8:30 am on Sept. 1, take some photos, and leave promptly at 9:00 am for the 20-mile, 30-minute drive to the show.
For the sake of driving directions, Vulcan Park is located at 1701 Valley View Drive, Birmingham, AL. Barber Motorsports Park is located at 6040 Barber Motorsports, Leeds, AL.
Unless you requested to park with a specific Car Corral (Bullitt, Mach 1, Roush, etc.), those that enter together park together, so be sure to join the caravan if you want to park with your follow TMSers. (Project Source Horse will be in the Vortech Tent.)
General show info:
There is a cruise-in planned for Thursday night, August 31, in downtown Homewood at the corner of 18th St. S and 29th Ave S., about two miles down the road from Vulcan. There will be live music and the streets will be blocked off. The caravan to the cruise-in will line up at Barber at 5:00 pm and the cruise-in starts at 6:00 pm.
Spectator Entry Fee
Spectators must pay to enter the show at Barber. If you buy your tickets now at BarberMotorsports.com, they're $25 for the weekend.
Discounted Synthetic Oil
TDS will be offering discounted TMS pricing on high performance Red Line Synthetic Oil (the official oil of Project Source Horse) at his shop - Rob'e Mans Motorsports - at the corner of 18th St. S and 27th Ave S between Vulcan and the cruise-in. Be sure to drop by and say hey to TDS!

I have reserved parking for approx 40 cars at our parking lots on 18th street.
Less than a block from the party.
Lighted and security will be provided.
Also maybe a "goody" bag or two, three four, etc.
For TMS members only of course.

Well we have to think about all our members driving in that morning. Im game anytime, but I am thinking around 1 will be the best time for more people to show up as well as miss morning and most of the afternoon traffic.

Judge's Choice and Display Only cars can park together, but space in the paddock for Display Only is limited. The earlier we get there, the better our chances of parking together!

Also, and this might be a tad OT, but what activities are planned at night? Is there a Hooters near by (think Orlando Hooters during FFW in March!)? Years ago I used to go to the old Car Craft Street Machine Nationals and the after hours "activities" were a lot of fun (though somewhat illegal) - burnout contests (in the streets no less), cruising bumper to bumper, **** like that.

9:00am here too - earlier the better. We're (MTAS, Mustangshadow, Runfox) driving hundreds of miles from FL. to hang with our TMS brethern so lets do our best to keep the group together!

I also voted for 9 to improve our chances of all being able to park together, but since I'm coming in on Thursday, I can do whatever time. If we have enough cars we can even make our own small groups of each generation.

The Display Only and Judge's Choice cars can park together.
The best way for tickets is to go to www.MCA30thAnniversary.org and register your car. You have the option there to order extra tickets at a discounted rate.

Brad,
Pre-registration closed on 8/11/06, or so I was told monday when I finally remebered to register. I ordered tickets through the Barbers website, still cheaper than at the gate, however they told me that I could not park in any corrals or enter judging, because I had not pre-registered.

FYI . . . . for those that have tried to register online via www.MCA30thAnniversary.org and have received an 'Error Message' please review your payment records. Even though you receive an 'Error Message' your credit card WILL BE charged. I tried twice yesterday, and twice this morning, thinking the MCA website was having some issues, and to my surprise my credit card was charged TWICE this morning, and yet no email from MCA was sent to my attention stating my registration had gone through. I have emailed Steve McCarley to advise me in this situation.

OK, so I went to the MCA site, registered for Display only, Gave them CC info, no e-mail, of any kind yet. Have I been taken? Gonna bill the card and not send the needed info?
Wait till I call MCA tomorrow and have a talk with them.
