I am going to be moving to Tampa in mid Feb, and was wondering what the tinting laws in Florida were. Also, if anyone knows a good, reputable place to get it done in the area, I would appreciate it.

 

35% is the darkest legally that I know of. But there are shops that will go darker. What part of Tampa?

 

Yeah, I just googled it. FWIW, it is 28% for the front side windows and 15% for the back sides and rear window. I am going to be in the Wesley Chapel area......can't wait to get out of this snow/ice, lol.

 

wow,your gonna be my neighbor!I live in Land O lakes and work in Wesley Chapel. MILD TO WILD on Bearss ave in Tampa is the best IMO.(Its North Tampa so its not far from wesley Chapel) I had 13% done all the way around.They just don't give you a receipt but they give you a business card with date installed for the warranty. look me up when you get here(PM me) we can meet to cruise up to FFW in Orlando

 

Awesome, thanks for the info. Do the cops give you any problems with your tint? Also, did you use felt for your side windows to prevent scratching? I will definately PM you when I get down there.

 

I had felt installed free by Ford after my tint got scratched. Now the adhesive is leaving gooey residue on the tint cuz its so freakin hot down here in the fall and summer I bought moleskin felt but haven't had a chance to install it..The cops never give you problems.Too many people have tint down here.If you don't have tint ,you look out of place..Now if you had a ricer w/fart pipes and Limo tint,thats another story....PM me when you move, Later, Chuck
