BTW did you guys see that they are finally making a live action Transformers film, produced by Spielberg!
I seriously doubt that Spielberg himself will produce the movie. The reports link his name merely because the live-action Transformers movie will be produced by DreamWorks SKG, which he owns 1/3 of. [/b][/quote]
I know about his stake in the company and thats why I bet he will be helping this one out all the way. This movie is going to cost a lot of money to make and could be a potential financial disastor for Dreamworks if it bombs. Speilberg will probably have a lot more influence on it. They have already sais that this movie will be in the spirit of the films he made in the 80s. I can't see them pulling something this big off without him and it not being totally moronic.

I think I am going to have to go out and pick up one of these Alternators. I bought a Transformer back in the early '80s. I think it was Prowl (280ZX Police Car).

And of course I will have to buy Grimlock, or whatever his name turns out to be.

I think I might spend the big bucks and get the binaltech version of this Grimlock, not the cheap alternator plastic one.

I would, too, but I'd leave it in car mode, as transforming it would just scratch the paint job.

Anyway, here are some more prototype pics. No horse emblem, but remember - this is just a prototype.

The blue Alternator Corvette isn't out yet, but the yellow Binaltech Corvette import is now available online on eBay.

The Mustang is supposed to hit stores this December. In the meantime, here's a new pic of Grimlock.

And here's a new pic of Meister (Jazz)/Mazda RX-8.

The Japanese Binaltechs are more expensive not only because they're imported, but unlike their domestic Alternators counterparts, they use diecast metal on most of their body components. Although many of us grew up with diecast Transformers, that material isn't really ideal for this toy line unless you want to invest on touch-up paint.

Here's another pic of Grimlock.

For anyone who is concerned that the Mustang will be Grimlock (and will therefore be not-so-bright), I have some rumor and conjecture.

According to a few of the Transformer websites I've been too, the Alternators/BinalTechs are from a new story line where the Autobots bodies have been destroyed by a Rust Virus unleashed by the Decepticons. Working together with corporations and manufacturers on Earth, the Autobots are able to build new bodies for themselves.

Maybe Grimlock will get a "Brain Upgrade" too...

Before you roll your eyes and ask, the answer is "No, I don't really have a life".

Sounds like they're rehasing the "Cosmic Rust" storyline from Generation 1. However, the Decepticons should also fall victim to the virus as well. Hence the reason we also have Decepticon Alternators (Dead End and Swindle).

So it seems. Just thought I'd hang out someplace other than at the anime forums.

Areaseven-

Is there a direct distributor for the Binaltechs in the US. I'd pay extra for a metal version.

I don't know about a direct distributor for BinalTechs, but the two places I know of that you can get them here in the US are eBay and bigbadtoystore.com.
