Jetfire was the first name for the toy. The character was named Skyfire for the cartoon. The toy came from the same exact mold as the jets in the Robotech line. Legal reasons regarding this are the reason for the name change and different appearance of the character on the show. Eventually the toy was put out of print for legal reasons resulting in the characters "death" on the show. It is one of the most valuable Transformers ever made. I had one but someone stole it when I was a kid.

The coolest "car" Transformers at that time were SideSwipe(Ferrari) and SunStreaker(Lambo).

Anyway back to topic! I'm going to pick up the yellow Corvette and red Mustang transformer.
Reeaally...

What if one were to have just the metal figure (and had lost all the accessories)

Would that be worth somethin?

'Cause guess who has one...

PS. Not that I'd part with it. Just askin'.

Ok, after reading 'bout the outgrowing thing and Legos:

I've still got Legos. I still build stuff with them. Legos are NEVER out of style. $$ to get though.. 8)

My brother has a whole box of Transformers. Mine and his. He got the Decepticons, and I was the Autobots keeper. When we got older, I decided that he could keep them all (except for the aforementioned Jetfire. He's never leaving me. NEVAR!!)

He lets kids play with them. They go gaga over them. And, here's the kick, they can't play with them without supervision. We care about the things still.

We don't have everything, just the ones we thought were cool. Astrotrain is (next to Jetfire) my favorite, because that's a neat Transformer to play with.

Man, I'm going over there now. Catch up with the things, ya know?

BTW, I WILL get the '05 Grimlock/Mustang. Why wouldn't ya want that?

I've seen people get anywhere between 100 to 1000 for them. Whats killing me is that some of the sets I had are going for 2000 sealed.

I have been looking for days... I can't seem to find a good/bigger/ color picture out there of the Mustang Transformer. I wanted to photoshop it, but my skills prevented me. Anyone have another pic or know where to get one? And if all else fails... Anyone want to help clean it up it for me? Thanks all

That takes me right back!

Did anyone else who had Jetfire have the problem with that bit on the back that never seemed to fit?

The one I have just bought is from 1982, that makes it pretty original??, it wasn't from the guy I mentioned. It has slight yellowing so is not mint, but I am never that fussy!

You should see my living room table and closet then. I build 'em and the 5 year old breaks 'em.

Are those the 17" or 18" rims?

I wonder if Grimlock has IRS, or not.

But the colored version looks pretty darn cool.

If it doesn't have IRS, then Dan won't get it.

I seriously doubt that Spielberg himself will produce the movie. The reports link his name merely because the live-action Transformers movie will be produced by DreamWorks SKG, which he owns 1/3 of.
