Anybody dissassemble an Auto Art Vert?
Even though it seems that Black convertibles are fairly common, no one has saw fit to produce a black die cast. Has anyone tried dissassembling an AutoArt or Hot Wheels convertible for repainting. The Auto Art car has the right wheels, so it would be my first choice.

Not really any different than a regular diecast. Just they use nicer parts, and may have more screws. Just be careful. I haven't had the guts yet to modify one of my many AA diecasts yet (just too much money to mess with. Hot wheels, or Maistos, no biggie). Just take your time, and remember where everything went. I hear the trickiest thing is to make sure you get the steering assembly put back together correctly.
