Your opinions on having a guesswork part put on after 'Global Windows' disabled
Just curious what you all would do. I had my car in about a month and half ago to have global window feature disabled due to my windows going down on their own while the car was parked (4 times in one day). The Tech put his head together with the Factory Tech and out of pure guesswork they wanted to try replacing an Rek Module (I think that's what they called it). Well, it's been a month and a half trouble free since disabling the 'Global Windows' & I am thinking that that was the culprit all along and am questioning whether I want to take my car in at all to have a part put on that I may not even need replaced (Rek Module). When my car was in, they checked everywhere around any sending units, fuses, etc. and there was no moisture anywhere, so that wasn't any cause. The service dept. called me the other day saying that the part is in, and to let them know when I would like to schedule an appointment to put it in........ What would you do under the circumstances, and also considering you've had your car in several times over the last 2 years, and kinda relish having the break from the shop?

On the other hand it would be a nice feature to have seeing as it was intended for the vehicle. Wouldn't that be something if those techs figured out that the REK module needs replacement and that would solve the whole issue rather than just deactivating them. I say give it a shot, have them put the module in and then reactivate. You may be a hero for the people that have been having issues. As long as its under warranty, why not do it?

It is astonishing that Ford just elected to take the easy way out and deactivate the feature, rather than simply fix it. It speaks directly to management's cost-cutting and "decontenting" obsession.
Slightly off topic, but I'm also COMPLETELY flummoxed as to why Ford would put "ambient" lighting in the '08 Stangs - including the cupholders - and yet not bother giving us a simple light in the glove box or trunk, where one really needs it. Gimmicks, as opposed to getting the basics right, first.
I swear, there is no focused, cohesive decision-making team at Ford.

It is great for those hot summer days...just roll 'em down and let the interior cool down. No auto-roll-down problems yet...touching wood!

I thought there was a light in the trunk on the underside of the decklid? Mine has one in the black housing just behind where the lock/decklid medallion is.
