Your 2005 Mustang

while it sounds like a good idea..
remember,
if your car gets ripped off, you get nothing for it.
Some insurance companies will cancel your premium if your car was heavily modified, they could deny you coverage on that collision, and you will pay the highest rates for insurance after that.

I think most insurance companies have no problem with simple bolt-ons that do not drastically change the car's stock setup. Mods like exhaust, K&N filter, intake, rims/tires, springs etc. are okay. Modifications to the engine itself such as blower, turbo, boring and stroking etc. must be identified.

i was thinking last night...do you think he's switching from strictly liability coverage to full coverage for a new car? that could deffinatly account for the increase...especially for someone around the age of 18.
congrats though for getting a mustang! that's deffinatly a great car to have...v6 or whatever. i got my first car at 18...it was a used 1990 chevy cavileer. :notnice: i guess it got me around though. but hey...working at mcdonalds can only get u so much.
i'm still working on a new quote...and i'll post once i find out a price. i had to go home and check my insurance values just to be sure. 50/100.

My family has to carry extremely high premiums due to income. The insurance on my dad's car before modified to what it is now was ridiculously high. It was a bone stock '86 Trans Am.. then about a year and a half ago we finished building a 350 for it and it's now putting out 400+ : ) and we also put a 6 speed in it. It's a fun car to drive, but even as a 215 hp stock car the insurance was high. We're lucky insurance gods are merciful on v6 stangs because come October/November, we'll have three of them (2 sisters and me).

Purchasing in Feb 2005.
GT
5spd
My preference:
Black ext.- Although I am concerned about Ford's black paint fading in Miami's climate.
Red & black interior.-The soon to be famous "Porno Red". Complete with rose tinted sunglasses.
My Wife's preference for me:
Any sedate exterior color. White, satin silver, etc.
Charcoal interior. Complete with coffee holder.
Mods:
Cannot say as of yet. Depends on what the aftermarket can do with the engine. Comment has been that computer control is all pervasive. It will be slower than my current car. But it will be a new design and a much improved platform. And it does appear, at least on the exterior, as a modernized 1969 Mustang.

My '05 that is on order is going to be a Mustang GT Premium with Black Clearcoat. I'm getting the IUP and the Color Accent package, the 17" bright wheels, Shaker 1000, Active anti theft, and side airbags. I'm keeping the spoiler and the standard transmission.
This car's gonna rock!!
The only mod I am planning on so far is to tint the windows. It's going to be really really hot here in Texas with a black car. Plus I don't want my red seats to fade! I'll think about other mods when the car is in my garage.

05 GT Premium
5speed
Mineral Grey
Medium Parchment, Leather
Interior Upgrade Package
Standard wheels
Shaker 500
Spoiler Delete
The dealer took my order down, and may place it without my down payment. I'm 6'6" and want to sit in an 05 before ordering. He's the fleet manager, and said he's going to see if he can put the order in anyway (he can sell it if I fail to follow through on the order, so he's at zero risk).
Once I commit (assuming I can fit in them), I'll put in the down payment and ask him to also add the following items as a dealer installed option.
3.73 ring and pinion
8.8" Torsen DIfferential
I figure that would be a nicely equipped GT for under $30K.

After much soul searching I know now what I want.
Fire Red Premium GT Convertible with black rag top.
Painted alloy wheel.
Standard 5 speed clutch.
Full custom interior except the "red" accents.
Standard FM/CD audio.
Full safety & chassis option.
Roll bar if it's an option.
I might have Roush massaged exhaust & chassis, but it's not certain yet.

Hi guys! I'm total noob here... This car will be the first Ford I've ever purchased.
Here goes:
2005 Mustang GT Coupe Premium
-Color: Redfire
-Side Airbags
-Shaker 1000 Audio System ( :headbang: )
- 17" Bright Machined Cast Aluminum Wheels (wish the 18's were avail  )
- Not sure on tranny choice...leaning towards the 5-spd manual
Beginning to wonder if I'll save a few $ by getting the Coupe Deluxe and getting the leather seat option?
Have not placed an order yet, but I've secured an X-plan PIN

Still trying to decide depends on SE
color not sure Id prefer a Highland Green with strips fat chance
18's when they come
IUP
Shaker 500
Side Airbags because I don't like the seat lever on the side
V-8
I like standard but I drive a truck all day might go auto

New to the site - getting ready for a new mustang and looking at the different color combo's:
Whats up with the nice colors and stripes on the car show car - You can't get the color, the wheels, I can do the stripes - Photo's of that car is what made me want one?? Now I am all confused :bang:
Should I wait a year? Or perhaps do something with black...

I have ordered Windveil Blue GT, IUP, 17" bright machined, Anti theft, Parchment Interior. This will be my 5th Mustang over the years (first car was a teal green 65 back in 75, my first "new car" ever was a 79 Cordovan colored Mustang, next came a Silver in 85, and then a few others (always Ford). I think this Mustang is b e a u t i f u l, and cannot wait to drive it. ( I have not seen one in person, just the pictures on the net.) I have ordered the first one to be sold at the Traverse City dealership, so I hope it will come in early as opposed to late (I'm sure we all hope the same thing!) I live in Northern Michigan, and even though the snow is big-time, I plan to drive it most of the year! I'm not overly concerned about the rwd in winter. Thanks for letting me say so! Screaming Yellow (my wife's idea) GT 5-spd w/ aftermarket Eleanore stripes and, if available, an aftermarket functional shaker scoop (or if they just happen to come out with a Mach 1 later in the year I'll have to hold out a little longer .
Premium charcoal interior w/ IUP
Side Airbags
Anti-theft
17" painted wheels
Shaker 500 (I'll be 35...I need the hearing I can spare!)
