BEK, does this mean you have to work for them or can you be a member (ie. I have CAA for roadside assistance). Sorry if this is a dumb question.

If you are referring to either of the above, or their affiliates, then yes it does apply for X plan. Got the info from Ford's X plan list. The six digit codes, K1V0Y3 and L3T7P9 are the supplier codes that you need to get a pin #

What about CIA members? I guess you could sell them an x-plan car, but then the salesman would "disappear" shortly after

For Ontario guys and probably everyone, just got this from one of the local dealers. Don't know if its the truth, but if it is 'I can't handle the truth!'.
Hi,
There was a meeting in London yesterday regarding the new 2005 Mustang. It
looks like Aplan and Xplan are not going to be offered the first year. If I
hear anything different I will contact you.

Sounds fishy...I'd want to hear that from more than just a dealer saying 'no xplan/aplan'
I was told by one place "we only get one mach1"
after 3 went through that dealership within 3 months.
I don't even care if they don't offer XPLAN, I just want the price.
Show me invoice...add on 2% cost.
Call it what you want...thats what I want.

Heh, we work just outside of Dulles airport, so FedEx, UPS, Grumman, every rental car company you can think of, AOL, MCI, Lockheed-martin, EAA, and at least 5 major distributors for Ford are all within about 15 miles from us

Ford just announced new programs today including AXZ programs. They are applicable for all current 2004, 2005 models except Hybrid Escape. Np specific mention of 05 Mustang either pro or con. Ford can change this any time they want and don't have to honor anything. Special programs are at their discretion. However, I don't see Ford not offering special purchase pricing on such a high volume, high profile product.

I have been checking the ford partners website (www.fordpartners.com) to see if they have added the 05 mustang to their exclusion list. So far so good. Here is a current paste from the site of excluded vechicles.
Ford Motor Company may, at its discretion, exclude certain models from the Partner Recognition Program.
Current excluded vehicles include F-450 through F-750 Super Duty, Mazda Speed, E-450, E-550 and Aston Martin vehicles. This list of excluded vehicles is subject to change.
If they add the 05 mustang, I will probably cancel my order and wait until it's available or buy something else. It depends on the August pricing we are all waiting on.

I just hope the dealerships don't $%&# up selling the car like they did with the SVT Focus. Greedy bastards

For sure, I have already been confirmed at another dealer that they will honor X Plan's and such. I am planning on waiting 6 months to avoid early launch problems and in hopes of a SE. I know, I know this launch is to be the best, but things always go wrong with new products. Recent launches that I have been involved with don't really have build issues but more along the lines of software issues, reflashes etc. 1's and 0's cause lots of problems.

over invoice silly :bang:
Actually 2-4% is the average 'good deal' over invoice. Everyone wants something for nothing. If you NEED to wheel and deal on this car, its out of your range to start with. I have people all the time that want $2k off, a $3k rebate and I ask them how much down, they say $500 max. So $5000 is no big deal, but all you can pony up is a lousy $500?

Didn't mean to sound silly Kevin, and by the way I appreciate of your comments and helpful info. I just don't know what invoice vs msrp is! I guess if it wasn't for your knowledge, i'd get taken to the cleaners at the local dealership. I plan to come up with a little more than $500 though, as I should have 36k saved up by October. So what might invoice be for a 26000 car anyway? Maybe this is a good ex: http://www.wheelsdirect2u.com/sample_analysis.htm

Im just being devils advocate...
Figure a $1800 markup from invoice to sticker with 700 holdback on the BASE BASE coupe up to about $2600 markup with 900 holdback on a loaded GT coupe.

Money you dont get
Its paid back to dealers from every manufacturer once the car is sold. Its basically to pay the light bill, PDI's, state inspections, new cars wash and gas, and lot expenses. Average holdback on most makes is 2%
