there are members posting on the blue oval news site saying they can get you x plan pin numbers because as we all have read ford is giving them incentive to give out 8 pin munbers and they get and autographed gt from Bill Ford. They say they need jame address and last 4 digits of your SSN, what would you do, trust them or what. People are giving their info up to these people freely and using the pins numbers so far that I can see and or read, but the SSN number scares me..... what would you do? or what do you suggest?

I have a problem giving my personal info to people I don't know. We had a problem with someone in the main office of my wifes college stealing SSN. So I am real cautious. But if it can be done in a private manner and you know for a fact that they are legit then I might think about it.

I just have to say something here, yea, its scary to give out your info, but its what Ford requires for a purchase on a pin # and its only the last 4 of your SSN. If you don't believe me, just ask your salsman, he'll tell you the same. If you're still uncomfortable, then just don't get an X-plan pin. There's a few dealers who are selling them for near-invioce so, your choice. BTW, the SSN has to match the person buying the car, not the one giving out the X-plan pin #. B)

I agree with 2MustangJohn. Not much of a security risk. You don't have to do it. I did with no problems. I ended up better off at $500 over and the horse discount. Released my number back.

It sounded like he was gonna give his info over the internet. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Giving info in person to a dealer, is one thing, but giving it to someone over the net is a totally different scenerio.

you can't do anything with the last 4 SS# digits. Its really not a big security issue. If the person you are giving them to is reputable, then it should be no issue.

They get a $150,000 car for giving out 8 X-plans? Maybe I am not reading that right.

I believe it is a contest through ford. Whoever gets the most referrals or useage of Xplan in their name is entered. Possibly a raffle.

I got my pin through these forums for a very reputable poster. So if you're concerned check their history and like everyone says it's only the last 4 of thr SSN.

Also I thought Ford was giving a model GT, if it's the real one then WOW.

It's a model that Bill Ford signs himself. He was reluctant to do this affriad they would sell his signature cars on Ebay. He didn't want anyone to profit from his signature.
