When I bought my Explorer I got x-plan invoice price + incentives so saved $10k off sticker. When I got my stang however they were high demand and would only give me invoice price and only on orders, not off the lot, there weren't any on the lot anyhow. I know I've been seeing lots of good local deals on lot cars, maybe you can get invoice + incentives now.

At this point you'll likely be able to get x-plan pricing with or without a PIN. Just ask!

Silverbull271,

You have the wrong idea. Those that can get the X-Plan can't give a PIN to someone else. I asked Ford about this because I wanted to get my sister to buy her car with an X-Plan PIN, and Ford said that although that is true with the A-Plan, with the X-Plan, only my wife and I can use the PIN.

Like I said in my previous post, CALL 1-800-348-7709 to get your X-Plan PIN. Only takes a couple minutes. If you are authorized, they will give it to you quickly. When I'm ready, I will call right from the dealers phones if I have to. If your employer was/is on the list, all you have to give Ford is their name, your last four (don't give out more than your last four), what car you are going to buy, and aprox when. SIMPLE. Ford@ 1-800-348-7709.

Actually, you're a little off base here. Once a PIN has been assigned to someone it's non-tranferable. But that has nothing to do with obtaining a PIN. You're referring to the x-plan supplier/employer program which is only available to folks that work for a participating company. BUT, Ford employees also get a number of X-plan PINs that they can give freely to anyone they like. The forum I listed is frequented by Ford employees who are willing to provide PINs that they would not have otherwise used. In my case, I have a friend who is an engineer at Ford and thus provided me with my PINs.

I know that & I don't charge it. Sorry to hear that your dealer tried.

Am I correct in thinking the X plan and A plan buyers pay the destination and FDAF (Advertising)?

I don't know about the A plan.

For the X-Plan, here are my notes:

Yes, FDAF is charged to every dealer, and according to the Xplan rules, Xplan purchases do have to pay FDAF charges. This is included in the posted Xplan price that is printed on the invoice.

It is also my understanding that Xplan purchases have to pay the "Dest and Deliv" charge. I believe this is also included in the posted Xplan price that is printed on the invoice.

You may want to verify this info with an official source. Try blueoval.com

Things may have changed since we bought our Mustang using the Xplan.

You may try e-mailing this gentleman. Doug is an excellent source of info. He was very helpful to us during our purchase using the X-Plan.

RobK,

Did not know that Ford Employees were authorized to give out X-Plan PINs. You are correct in that I got my X-Plan PIN because I worked for a company that was in partnership (supplier) with Ford.

So, what you are saying is if I want my sister to get an X-Plan PIN, a Ford employee (who is authorized the A-Plan) can get her that X-Plan PIN.
I know what information I had to give Ford in order to get my X-Plan PIN. What information would she have to give to the Ford employee for them to give her an X-Plan PIN?

As for me, because of the company I retired from, I just call the number, give them my previous PIN and they issue me a new PIN, probably after confirming that I am who I say I am (last four, company, etc).

Sorry about my misunderstanding.

All they need is your full name and SSN. There are tons of folks that frequent the Blueoval forum I posted which freely give out PINs for folks that ask nicely. It's somewhat uncommon for employees to use their allotment of x-plan PINs so there are plenty available. In fact, I think they recently got a bump to 5 per annum, but don't quote me on that. All I know is that my friend told me he got some more PINs so I can get 6 more Mustangs.

That would be a yes! I got my car D-Plan, and I paid it. FDAF is on every car, and everyone pays it. Same as destination.
