clock spring from 11-14 to an 05-09?

Someone on here might know, so I'll ask:

Is there a way to interchange teh parts from the clock spring of a 11-14 into the clock spring of a 05-09? I need more pin slots than the 05 provides. The clock spring assemblies themselves are not interchangable, from what I can see.

But can the internals be switched?

I got my answer.

for the 05-09, there is an unused port going in the bottom left side and out the front bottom. Connector WPT440 (now WPT1242) plug into these ports and add 6 wires.

The clock spring allows wires to go from the steering column into the steering wheel. It keeps a connection despite the spinning of the steering wheel.
