Ok,

I know this topic has been rehashed over and over on this board, but no one ever really talks about what the costs should be. Here's what I know.

X plan = A plan + 4% + $150.

Now I also know A plan is "Typically 4% under invoice" according to the FAQ. So

A plan = invoice - 4%

Thus

X plan = (invoice - 4%) + 4% + $150

Finally

X plan = invoice + $150

I know the -4% and +4% don't exactly cancel one another out, but for simplicity's sake I made them cancel one another.

Now I feel like I"m doing a math problem. When it's all said and done, it seems to me that the xplan price should hover somewhere over invoice cost by a few hundred dollars.

Now here's the big question. Where are the invoice prices? According to the following site invoice should be

http://www.invoicedealers.com/cars/Feature...2577&trim=16636

GT Deluxe
Base Invoice Price: $23,066

GT Premium
Base Invoice Price: $24,128

So does this mean, I can get a GT deluxe from a dealer that takes Xplan for
invoice + $150 + whatever difference comes from adding and subtracting 4% from invoice cost.

I'd then expect a Deluxe GT to cost not much more than $23,500.

Is this right? It doesn't seem to be so according to the prices I've seen other members post. I know they get IUP and other things, but they seem to end up with prices closer to $26-$27K which doesn't seem to make sense to me. If I figure this to be correct, I'll forget buying a mustang used, I'll be going for a vista blue 06 GT.

The only flaw is that the figures you had do not include Freight. Why get all worked up on trying to figure the math on how to figure an X-plan anyway. Just ask your dealer to price the car out x-plan with the options you want and the Vehicle Order Confirmation will show the MSRP, Invoice, A-Plan, and X-plan pricing. I have been doing this for almost 24 years and I never try to manually figure the price when with a few clicks of the mouse I have it all in front of me plus it is accurate.

Ed,

Yea, I just am trying to figure because I don't have an xplan pin yet, and I don't have the program that figures all that stuff out. Can I ask a dealer to give me the xplan price without an xplan pin? I personally don't want to go over 25K for a GT so that's why I'm trying to figure it out. My alternative now is to buy a used GT for 24,500. But if the xplan can get me a GT Deluxe with IUP and spoiler delete in vista blue for the same price, I'd search high and low for Xplan pin and dealer who would take it for the 06.

you plan on that price before or after destination charges?

06 GT Coupe Premium MSRP 26,320.00 Xplan 24,138.00

295.00 Xplan 263.00 Antitheft
450.00 Xplan 401.00 IUP
825.00 Xplan 735.00 18" wheels
675.00 Destination charge
3.84 2 U.S. Gallons Fuel Thats cheap!!

Total MSRP 28,565.00

A/Z Plan 25,452.84
D Plan 25,552.84
X Plan 26,484.78 MY price

Good luck on getting under the 25k wire.
Spending that much already, I say get what you want!

Awesome,

Based on the info you provided, I think I'd get

GT Deluxe for 23,066
Alarm 263
IUP 401
Destination fee 675

That would total 24,405.

Plus I think I"d buy lojack for 600.
that'd put me right at

25,005.

Now if I could just get an xplan pin and dealer who would take it.

Man, now I'm second thinking buying that used GT I found.

Vista Blue with spoiler delete. Ducktail mod.

This is so frustrating! :bang:

Don't forget about financing rates (unless you're paying cash), as well as tax and license.

I recieved an x-plan pin from roy (thanks again roy) and when checking out the myplan site, ford states that for ford vehicles for which the x-plan is accepted (ie. - the escape hybrid is exempted by ford from the x-plan pricing), the price is simply:
x-plan price = invoice price - (0.4% of invoice) for ford/mercury vehicles (its different for each of the ford brands).

Who's roy? And does he have another pin?

he is one of the guys on here ... 05stanggt or something like that. do a search on x-plans and you should find the thread he started when offering them a few weeks ago. however, i wouldnt expect him to have any left, but you can pm him and ask.

X plan is less than invoice. You should be able to find a dealer who will take it if you order one, but are less likely to find one to take it for one sitting on the lot.

You can go on www.blueovalnews.com and check. There is a thread that is Ford employees providine Pin's for people. Make sure you have not gone into a dealership first or already have a car on order.

I ordered my 06 gt on 7/9/05 and my dealer told me no one would take x-plan on 06 gt's. Is he blowing smoke??? Does anyone know of a ford dealership on the west coast that is taking x-plans??? I even have two pins! Man, if I could go x-plan...I'll go vert!

Yes, the dealer is "blowing smoke."

Call around... someone will take X plan.

You were right! Getting 06 on x-plan. Should be 29,500 out the door for premium gt coupe, IUP, ICAP, wheel locks, anti-thft, side air bg, auto.

I dont know if this has already been mentioned but if you go to cars.com you can build and price your car just like the Ford website but cars.com will give you the invoice price along with MSRP. So you can start your math problem out with the correct number. All said and done invoice and X-plan are almost one and the same.

X-plan and invoice are negligibly different.

My 05:

X- 26,079.40
D- 25,158.84
A/Z- 25,058.84
Inv- 26,108.40
MSRP- 28,120.00

And definitely shop your dealer. I got wildly different answers from dealers within 10 mi of each other.

I'll second that. My x-plan price ended up being a little under invoice.
