Contact Ford Investor Relations to ask about getting the X-Plan PIN in Canada:

https://secure.ford.com/en/company/i...rQuestions.htm or (800) 555-5259

They will fax over an application form and you mail that out. I used Scottrade to buy "F" stock, but it is pretty high right now at $9 USD/share. It was low $8/share since the end of September and is almost at a 52-week high right now.

Be careful if you have a trade in and are using a plan pin. If dealers cant jerk you around on the price they will try way harder to get you on the trade.
When I bought my 2007, I told the dealer I had an x plan pin (from a friends father). He ended up offering $1500 more for my trade than anyone else had, and told me he could get me an a plan pin for $100 cash. Since the diffence in the plans was $1100, I went with it. Ended up paying $24200 for a 2007 premium GT with IUP.
So if you dont have any ethical issues screwing Ford out of a bit on cash (and if you do, I reccomend looking up the words "Ford Pinto" and "explosions" on google ) it cant hurt to ask the salesman if he can get his hands on one.

Remember the price of the car depends on the options.

Our is missing only 2 options, shaker 1000 and side air bags.

Dealer advertising. Not the ads dealers run individually in the local paper, as I understand it, but their share of corporate advertising done at a local level-- ie: the "see your Northern California Ford dealer" type of TV and print ads. It is included in the MSRP so most customers don't even know about it. But it is added separately to the invoice, so if you are working from invoice be aware that the dealer has to pay Ford for this. He will most likely pass this fee onto you as well. If you are using X or A-plan you have to pay it, as another poster mentioned.

This is why I ended up selling my old vehicle myself rather than trading with X-plan. It was a bit of a hassle, but I came out $1800 ahead.

The cost of options is dealer invoice if you use the A/X/Z plan.

I dunno if it is the best plan availible but I was able to custom order a loaded '07 Alloy Grey GT premium for $25.5k through the Navy Exchange Sales. It is for Military personnel only though.

X-plan is the best i got so far...

hi there everyone.
so i just came back from a dealer and he said x-plan and thats it.
There is a $1000 incentive offered on cars bought before 1/2/07

so, x-plan - $1000

is that the best possible deal?

i know i can not get the eqvilent military A-plan or is there a way to get it?

thanks!

I don't have any "plans" whatsoever .. I had the dealerships in my area bid against each other and I was sold a '07 for $2400 under invoice.

A-Plan = Ford employee
D-Plan = Dealership employee
X-Plan = Friends/Family/Neighbor/Shareholder/Supplier
Z-Plan = Ford retiree

A/Z is about $1000-$1200 below invoice
D-plan is about $900-$1000 below invoice
X-Plan is just about invoice

There's a $1000 rebate for automatic GTs and a $500 rebate for manual GTs.

Don't forget about the AQHA (American Quarter Horse Association) discount of $500. For $35 anyone can join and then receive an aditional $500 off your best deal on almost any Ford vehicle as long as it's not one of the plans. A lot of us used it back when the first Mustangs came out. We used it so much, in fact that they changed the rules. Used to have to be a member for 30 days before using it, but now it's 60.

Mine car was $200 under invoice PLUS the $500 so even when Mustang sales were at their highest (and the ADM, of course) I got it for $700 under invoice.
